the is a creepy ass abandoned house in my town down a dirt road in the woods. the house itself had been amazing at one point. the architecture is crazy, the cieling is two domes! but its has been vandelized within a inch of it's life but its still standing. their are some eerie things there though. like the kids bikes that have been there for a long time just rusting away in front of the house. there is also a baby carriage flung into the dense trees. there is one white high heel shoe that i almost tripped over. it looks like its from the 80's from the fashion of it. and there is so much other ramdon unexplainable things there.

there are rumors that go back to my parents generation about it being haunted. there is a rumor that the hells angles used to live there then uped and left one day. Ive been there about 5 times and have explored the damn thing up and down. i have heard stange noises but never seen anything. although my friend has pictures on her camera of what looks like a small blonde boy peeking out behind a wall looking at us looking at the house. but what i can say for sure is that the presance in the house really doesnt want visitors. very unwelcome feeling. anyways here is a pic but i didnt take it and it doesnt really do the house justice but you can get an idea of the architecture..

That is a pretty cool old house.

We had a house in our town that was the same way. Haunted stories, etc... It sits on top of a hill along side the road surrounded by corn fields. We used to go there every so often and do the whole seance bit. My buddy fucked with some broads there one night by taking a cow heart and putting it in the attic access hole. Dripping blood down the ladder and everything. Freaked them right out - especially the way we played it up. Whole thing was planned. Hillarious! They went screaming and running down the road they were so freaked out. It was great.

Weird it almost looks like a geodesic dome similar to those designed by Buckminster Fuller, which he considered the pinnacle of human architectural design [IMG]

They had a show on the travel channel showcasing a geodesic home in the desert. Very cool design! They said it was super easy to cool and super easy to heat. Little treehugger paradise! If done right it could probably have a pretty small footprint on the land too. Build a large sphere on top of a smaller pedestal.

    Cool idea...

Goverment mortgage lenders will not do a loan on a Geodesidc home. If you wanted to buy it it would be a cash sale or a subprime loan with a huge deposit. Forget home equity or a line of credit.

The lending freeze out probably contributed to abandonment.

Why wouldn't an FHA loan work with a geodesic home? As long as it's good structurally, why would they care? Never heard or dealt with that issue, so.....
