Obviously the physiological correlate of the third eye is the pineal gland as it seems you can feel it... just right there

but the thing I often wonder about, is there any physiological correlate to the 7th point?

I'm no expert on Kundalini Yoga, but so far as I am aware, there is no physical correlate with the Sahasrara Chakra. It is above the crown of the head.

I dont know if there is a physiological correlate to the Sahasrara. But in the past when I'd meditated for a prolong period of time, or had been concentrating on work or anything with a single focus the very top of my crown in the centre of my head will itch alot because of a build up of energy. The energy centre may be above the head. But from my experience if energy is in that region the centre of your scalp will itch alot or feel something.

The closest physical correlate to the Sahasrara is the opening in the skull that closes soon after birth, but re-opens when the Devi awakens, the "Brahmarandra". When Prana accesses the general upper skull area, itching can occur, as well as a host of other symptoms, but most of this is due to the Kundalini moving through the adjascent cakras under and part of the Sahasrara, forming the higher cakra complexes just under it. When the Sahasrara is actually accessed via the Brahma Nadi, then the entire visual and sensory fields are completely replaced with the experience of consciousness immersion in what is known as cit-ananda, also called Shiva Joytir.
At this point there is no physical awareness of self or body. This has been my experience.
The point being that when one's actual consciousness experiences Sahasrara, anything physical or physical correlates to the body are meaningless. Check out Gopi Krsna's experience. Namaste, Love Service Ananda

For some reason, I really understand the chakra system, but I don't understand it at all.

Sahasrara, the crown, is open when you overdrive your nervous system by dancing and doing yoga all night long and meditating in the morning.
Or you can go into a cave with no light for 5 days.
It also opens up when the nadhi's are purified.
It takes a lot of work! But when it's open, you will know. The divine white light leaks in....if you've never unified with god consciousness, you will.

Ajna, of course. the third eye. no one can deny. just close your eyes.
when it's open, you will see.
when it's closed, you will not.

The throat, for expressing the divine.
    Chanting calls the energy upward.
This chakra is weird, it acts like a launch pad.

    Heart. activated by love.

solar plexus. yellow balance. microcosmic orbit in taoist practices.
I open this with some leg exercises and some naval breathing.
my inner sun burning all negativity breathing out the ash.

sex chakra where I store my creative energy.
this chakra dominates some peoples consciousness.
ever notice how differently you think after you orgasm???

    root chakra.
your stability, connection with community, bioregion.
You can ride your roots into a deep, dark place.

We are just one octave of a spectrum.

The rainbows continue to flow underneath, and above.

    This is just us.

    oh, also.

    Google "endocrine system"

our glands correlate with the chakras, yes.

    a chakra is a wheel.

there are chakras everywhere (look at the ring of fire!!)
