I'm such a coward

So there's this amazing opportunity I'm being offered. And I should be crazy excited about it. But no, I'm nervous and terrified because I'm too worried I'll fuck it up and that I'm just not good enough. I know it's ridicilous and that I should totally go for it. No pain, no gain, right? So why am I still letting my nerves get in the way? I'm too nervous and rather than actually biting the bullet I'm just tempted to give up and not even try. How stupid is that?

How do YOU make yourself feel confident about yourself and your skills?

And how do you stop questioning and second-guessing yourself and your decisions?

PS. I admit I'm jealous of people who are confident, know what they want from life and aren't scared to just go for it.

 

Fuck it, fake it. You'll start to believe yourself after a while.

It also helps being God of the Underworld.

 

I just do things without thinking about it. If I think about it...I start second guessing..if I just say, "fuck it" and do it...I never have any problems.

just don't worry about it. do what you feel is best, trust your instincts, and go with it. whenever you get burnt, it's just another learning experience and you'll be better from then on.

 

Everyone feels some doubt some time. You should never envy anyone who has the same things you can have.

And you can go for it. Whatever lingering doubts you have that you're not good rough, prove 'em wrong. You deserve the best Jo. You really rock.

Never try and keep yourself down Jo. The rest of the world will try to do that for you.

That's amazing advice that most people sleep on. I used to have no confidence in my life. I started acting a little more cocky at times and proclaiming to be the best at this and that. Made me arrogant for a short period of time but after I found balance I was happy with what I saw, and I've had very few confidence issues since.

Your subconcious will do as it's told. If it's told it's happy and confident, it will be. Eventually it will turn to habit and you no longer have to fake it.

 

I just start focussing on what I do have to offer. If that's not enough I fake it to make it.

 

And also, how about this. If you go through with it, I'll turn in this application for a grant I've been looking into.

That way, we'll both have good news to post about here.

 

You get confidence just from seeing how kind of slow people are that even have good jobs. The more you work the more you will see.

Plus after working for a while you will probably notice you just autmatically do a good job

I remember having the thoughts you have when I was just getting out of school.

Now I've gained lots of confidence....but realize the world is hanging on by a string of inept people

 

You are letting your nerves get in the way because most people are scared as hell about change.

Courage is the ability to act. That is all.

I always question myself. However I do what Cortez did in Mexico. Burn your retreat boats. Yes I always burn my bridges.

But anyway what is the worst that can happen and what would you do then?

Opportunity is a fickle bitch. Best grab her by the hair and hang on.

If you don't do this how long are you going to be questioning yourself wondering what would have happened if you did do it?
