    Read a book, broaden your mind, help out around the house. Having the time to be bored is a luxury so enjoy it while you can.

    What ghostman said too...;)

    I bet you know why you got grounded, and by figuring out how to spend that extra time, you will know what the consequences for what you did if you decide to do it again.

    Read. Study. Drink cold beer by a hot fire. Play with the dog. Work out.

    I got suspended and maybe expelled from school...me and a few friends got busted with weed.

    like if i wasn't suspended. it wouldn't matter AS much because at least I'd leave the houes to go to school.
    but no.
    i have nothing to do.
    i've though about it enough, nothing more to think about.

    People are actually getting grounded in the 21st century?

    Seriously though, tell your mom to get fucked. It sounds like rebel-bullshit but shocking them might make them reconsider their methods from the 1950s.

    sorry had to grin at that comment...

    well i'm sure theres loads u can do...being stuff at home

    n u never now if u try to help in the house, or actually act like ur doing something useful, or in fact do something useful...maybe ur parents will forget about it (well not exactly forget about it) or even get a sense that you have learnt ur lesson and u may not be grounded for so long anyway....

    don't think i have ever been grounded before...tho

    If my child was caught with weed there would be big time consequences.

    How about you think that could impact education?

    family?
    friends
    siblings?
    etc
    family members
    Don't you think they have feelings too?

    Sadly some teens don't really seem to care. My husband teaches high school, and some of his students ditch on a regular basis. Their parents get fined $250 + after so many unexcused absences. If the truancies continue the parents can, and some have, go to jail. Parents drop them off in front of the school and the kid takes off as soon they can.

    Its sad. When I was growing up there is no way that I would have done ANYTHING to send my parents to jail. Why? Because when they got out they would have killed me! Seriously though, I respect(ed) my parents too much to ever disappoint them with my crappy decisions.

    ~~~~~~~
    Oh, I still ground my kids.....It's called parenting. They are welcome to rebel anytime they want to, at which point I only provide them what is required by law, and last time I checked an XBox 360 or PS3 wasn't on that list.
    When I see comments like "fuck your parents" it makes me think two words "emancipated minor." If someone is 16 and fed up with mommy and daddy, they need to go out and get a job, then petition the courts to become an emancipated minor. I am sure that supporting oneself at 16 is so much better than being grounded. [IMG]
    Grounding is limiting, sadistic and bad parenting in every way.
