Flowering Fertilizer??

any suggestions on a good cheap fertilizer to use that is easily found at the nearest garden store?????? and how much and how often, and any other tips on flowering cui just started flowering yesterday.....thanks

 

I use cacti plant food coz its high in phosphorus and potassium (pk). I still use my regular food but feed a half strength cacti once week for first few weeks and slowly increase over the bloom cycle t every feed. Be careful to avoid any food where the fertilizer is desolved in salt as this can affect the ph if you over feed. Ripeness is when 70 per cent of the pisils or bud hairs have turned brown so at about 60 per cent I just water with plain water till ripe. Dont worry if leaves turn yellow last few weeks of blooming this is normal.

 

ok kool so where can i get this cacti plant food? and can i still continue using my veg fertilizer? or is it bad to use?

 

Has'nt really gotta to be catci food but any plant food with a high pk mix and a low nitrogen (n) content will do. Any garden centre will sell such food if ya look at wat the fertilizer actually contains. Yep ya can still use your normal growing food but the trick is t slowly increase the pk over the bloom cycle, really important that coz ya dont wanna over feed. Basicly pot plants grow on nitrogen and when they bloom they start to require more potassium and phosphorus. Was hoping one of the others would post reply to give ya some more input and ideas.

look for something low in nitrogen, high in phosphorus.

E.g. bloom nutes from FF are 0-50-10. Obv you dont need something that loaded, and prob won't find it in a regular store.. but you get the idea.

 

I really believe you get what you pay for. I buy good ferts from Advanced Nutrients, General Hydroponics and I love Dr. Hornsby's stuff. Did you know that he grows medicinal cannabis and researchs it? It's like my friend says, "Who wants to live on a diet of rice?" We use a variety and I am most happy with the results. Just watch your ph with the different ferts.

 

i got the name cuz i own a heckler and koch 45 usp compact, thanks for all the advice, so i need to start lowly getting them off of the veg fert and slowly onto the flowering fert right?

Yep thats the idea slowly changed em over so say last couple of weeks there on just bloom food. Another top tip is pruning, start t remove all the small go nowhere branches at the bottom of ya plant this save them from putting energy into buds that aint going t amount to much and will improve the strength of ya final yield.

 

I was looking at wallmart for a low-high-high mix, and the best thing I could find was a Miricle grow "bloom fertilizer with a 15-30-15 mix.... how would this do?

 

Ya on the rite tracks twice the p then nitrogen is ok n will do nicely but bit less N would be better. campare the nitrogen in ya veg food your lookin t half it or better whiles increasing the pk rating. Hmm miricle grow anybody else used it?
