    ...about their beliefs.

We scare people off. When we meet strangers at the laundry mat, and put our hand on their head and scream "DEMON BEGONE!"... or when we go on dates, and then fifteen minutes into the conversation we start saying things like "You must become a Christian or you will go to hell immediately after your death. Christ is judging you." That's why we don't have Jesus Christ Puff Cereal, with how to get to heaven map written on the back. If you were five, and you were doing those little puzzles with the lines, trying to get the place you were supposed to go, and you went the wrong way and you drew yourself to hell, wouldn't that scare you?

    ....ok?
This is why in CM we go by this scripture..
"Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."

Therefore...... don't scare people. Don't go attacking people. They will tear your ass up.

Jesus said, "I fed you milk, not solid food, because you were unable to take it. Indeed, you are still not able, even now, for you are still of the flesh."
When we're supposed to talk to someone,we'll know. You can't do it out of anger, you can't do it out of frustration. Let them bring it to you.

    wow

    now wouldnt that be nice?

but christians, what scares us more then the attacks and the foaming at the mouth proclimations of doom and glooom eternal damnation is the single mindedness

lets look at cristianioty and polotics
this year..we have a christian candidate bent on utter destruction..carrying on a war that should nebvver be ..planning on expanding the war to the whole freakin world and russhin in armegedon
and then we have a muslim candidate trying toi stop the destruction, end the killing and bring peace (yup jesus would love that guy) but
can a christian ever vote for a noin christian no matter how right or wrong the choices?

what scares the world is...christianity depends on tyhe world beimng destroyed to prove christianity to be the 1 true faith
christians rush towards armegedon with gleee
self assured that destroying the planet will only bring them to the inevitable heaven..
christianity wants..no needs the world to end in order to make sence
the christian agenda then must head towards destruction..total annihilation

yea your right...christianity and its goals methods and practices (as well as single minded inability to think clearly or lofgicly) scares the living crap outta us

do the lies really keep you from being scared?
do you really believe you can destroy the world and god will thank you?

Sorry that I'm the only short poster, but WOW that makes a lot of sense, I never understood them talking about all their junk when my mom made me go to church.

Yeah I always thought that hard-core Christians WANTED the world to be destroyed, as a self-fulfilling prophecy to bring on the "End of Times". They are truly a scary bunch, the fundamentalists at least...

I should let you guys know that I am a Christian.. mystic.. i hate adding that part every single time lol....

Yes, a Christian can ALWAYS vote for someone who is a Non-Christian. I remember a few years before George Bush was elected at the church, everyone was praying that he wouldn't be elected, they were talking a lot about prophecies of war if he would be.

And I was like wtf, that'll never happen. They wanted al gore to win...

It's not exactly that they're lies, it's just a matter of different things that were prophecied to happen, even in the Bible it says that towards the end of the world there will be MANY, many false prophecies. Basically meaning that you have to rely on your own beliefs, and not to be afraid...

But humans (the flesh) overreact so much. They get in that mood where they're like "WE HAVE TO SAVE THE NON CHRISTIANS"... and they start freaking out and scaring the shit out of people.

A lot of Christians themselves, subconciously do want you to be scared. They want you to be scared, because in their minds they are saving you. When really you just think they're insane. That's why we're supposed to shut up and not freak people out. :-D

I think you are right. I wouldn't be so worried about getting torn to pieced, I'd be worried about people thinking you are crazy.

    2 things:

1 - Obama is not muslim. That is completely from the conservative hate-mail machine.

2 - "Saving" people, it seems to me, is only (only!) a way of making a religion self-replicating. Most successful religions do it in some way. If successful, it's kinda like spreading a disease. A disease that makes you want to spread it.

An awesome sci-fi and fairly relevant book that actually has a lot of religious information (well researched at the library of congress) is Snowcrash, by Neil Stephenson.

As hard as it is to believe, most of my christian woes come from online....and I usually instigate it lol...but it real life, I have to say, that I am pretty accepted, to my face at least, and rarely have to put up with that....most of the things that come up are just innocent ignorance...like wondering why I didnt have on green on St Paddys day.

i dont think its a bad thing for christians to speak about their beliefs, so long as they can hold up in a conversation without looking ridiculous. do your homework and cultivate whatever spiritual connection you have and im all right talking to you. theres alot of ignorant christians out there though who simply spout nonsence they've been fed their whole lifes by people before them who were fed the same nonsence. nonsence that isnt rational, or spiritual.

im interested in cultivating spiritual growth, love, expanding awarness, and living healthy and wholesome. if you can speak to me on that level and bring to the table somthing of sustance, i have an easy time connecting. it dosent really matter to me from where you draw this inspiration.

spouting things like "god hates fags because the bible said so", or "if you dont pray to jesus you cant go to heaven" dosent help anyone in anyway. the most basic idea of spirituality has been lost to such minds.

Well, a lot of Christian's take things to far. The truth would be saying "God loves gay people too because the Bible said so"... just like on pornandpancakes.com "Jesus loves the porn stars"....

But what I mean too is, the "pearls". The "pearls" are the biggest thing. You can't throw people who aren't "used" to the Christian world, and throw them in a place to where everyone is speaking in tongues. It's throwing them in the water too deep. Is it real? I'll tell you from experience, yes. But I don't agree with something like...
the movie "Jesus Camp" which to us, would be an amazing movie and very touching, but at the same time, for people who aren't used to it, it's also very scary.

I can't really blame them it would scare the hell out of me too. But you have to remember too, the movie was filmed in Devils Lake, North Dakota. And that place in itself is strange, apparentally they have a portal too hell. (? at least that's there idea)..

You should really read Snow Crash. Speaking in tongues is a big thing in it, too.

I'm not exactly sure. I don't think that anyone has to accept Jesus as their lord and savior, but I do believe they should accept GOD as their Lord and Savior. But I could be wrong too, who am I to say?

But I don't believe that this life is the only chance we get. I think that we have a few lives to go through so we can learn a LOT more about life in different ways, and I also believe that KARMA is a huge issue.
