Mark Twain " never use a dollar word where a dime word'll do." I agree, sticks and stones...... it is what is said that is important, not whether it is said with swear words, or mispelt, or punctuated improperly. Just chill, and dont pretend you dont know what someone means just cuz they said it crudely, cuz you did know what they meant, and yes prejudice rears its ugly head. It is different if you are applying for work, then you had better dot your i's and cross your t's.
Hmm, I did an essay on this My theory : You need to actually learn the rules to have a right to break them.
How society is today, all you need to learn to get by in life is propper ebonics.............. ~namaste~
Blackie, have you read "their eyes were watching God" by Zora Neale Hurston? I know you would like it, she wrote the same way as Twain, and was totally forgotten and out of print for decades until Maya Angelou and others discovered her.
