I am more of a surfer type so I wear board shorts all the time, but a hippie friend of mine wears bell bottoms to hide her bare feet. I go to school barefoot too, but I could care less if people stare at my bare feet in class.

I live in Eastern PA about 90 minutes from the Jersey shore. Actually people at school call me a surfer dude because I always wear board shorts and surf shop or themed t-shirts and I never wear shoes. People either call me a dirty hippie or a surfer dude. I guess take a look at the pics on my MySpace page and tell me what you think.

You still live 90 minutes from the beach....

I'm sorry....because I surf, I think its kinda funny when someone who doesnt live near the beach dresses like they live at the beach. I'm not trying to dog your style (because its my own as well....no, I take that back, its my LIFE) Im just trying to understand why....

Well, I can't really explain why. I mean, believe it or not, I was not trying to pose as a surfer. It's a combination of things I guess. I wear surfing themed t-shirts because I love the beach and anything tropical (wish I lived closer). I wear board shorts just because they are comfortable. They are elastic and no belt (or underwear) is needed. I would not be caught DEAD in a pair of dressy kahaki shorts. Going barefoot kinda completes the whole look, but again I wasn't trying for the look, I just go barefoot because it's comfortable and I am too cheap or lazy to buy shoes. This is how I normally dress for school, do I look like a surfer or just a beachbum?

Sorry to dissapoint you, dollydager. I wish I did live a little closer to the water than 90 mins. Maybe one day I will be able to afford it. Like I said, I really wasn't going for the surfer look, I dress for comfort and affordability. People just label me as a surfer. When I wear tye dyes and grow a goatee, then they call me a hippie. Go figure.

No disappointments....and I hope you're not taking this as me dogging you...

The thing is, I would be careful in lables - any kind. Certain lables will offend!!
