I've always been fascinated by and sort of admired the people involved. Right now I'm researching more about Aum Shinrikyo from Japan... Besides the typical liberation movements in the U.S. like ALF, ELF, and The Weather Underground...what are some others either in the past or present? Country not important... I know there are tons like the Irish National Liberation Army, the Red Hand Commandos, Lord's Resistance Army, the ETA, and Black Star... Just wondered if any of you had any others to suggest reading about
“Remember, remember the fifth of November, The gunpowder, treason and plot, I know of no reason Why gunpowder treason Should ever be forgot.” Sorry I do not know of any books on this but Guy Fawkes is known for the Gunpowder treason. Fascinating story. There are so many Liberation movements, Civil Wars and government overthrows throughout history it is hard to suggest just a few.
In my political science class a week or two ago I had a lecture on MNLF/MILF/Abu Sayyaf, and I thought it was quite interesting. I'd never heard of them before that.
Check out this. SCUM: Society for Cutting UP Men. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCUM_Manifesto http://gos.sbc.edu/s/solanas.html
yeah, when the lecturer first mentioned them he said "Moro Islamic Liberation Front, which unfortunately has the acronym MILF" and me being as immature as a 13 year old giggled for the next couple of minutes
