Last week, I was at an outdoor Coney Island and I go to throw a napkin away and there was a full bowl of fries sitting right on top. I love french fries and I look at my friend, Doorstop, and say, "Hey it doesn't look like there is anything wrong with these, I think I'm gonna eat them." She gives me a look and says, "Go for it." I did. They were delicious. Though they were crunchy...which I like, anyway. That wasn't the first time I did it, either. I hate when people waste food like that. I've eaten bread out of dumpsters, taken veggies from dumpsters, ate candy from trash cans...gee, I could go on. I can't stand seeing food wasted.
I've never gone dumpster diving but I don't see anything wrong with it as people throw so much good stuff away.
In mycountry it is forbidden by law to eat out of trash cans or dumpsters. And to search trough them.
At school, I had a sandwich in my lunch, and when I walked over to throw away a piece of garbage to the bin with the sandwich in my hand, I accidentally threw away the perfectly good sandwich and kept the garbage in my hand. D'oh! >_< Stuff like that happens to me all the time. So everyone in the caf saw me reach into the garbage, pull out my sandwich, dust it off, and take a big bite.
Furthest ive gone is when im reallly thirsty and theres a water bottle laying around with water in it. The probability of someone tampering it is like 0. Ive also dranken out of a known to be dirty lake when i was on a 10am bender biking through a forest trying to get home.
Wow, that's pretty gross. Plus, just the environment it was in. Oh, this so reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George snags the eclair with a bite taken out of it from the trashcan at his girlfriend's mother's house. That was a classic!
The human race owns its very existence to early man’s ability to scavenge for food in the african savannah, long before the development of agriculture and agronomy You’d make a successful (and attractive) cave girl hotwater
i see homeless picking from the trash almost daily. they just walk through, do a quick search and seem to be gone for a few hours. people do throw away a lot of stuff.
my friend moved in with some "freegans" they only eat stuff thats been thrown away kind of weird, and I will never eat dinner at their house, but y'know, I see where they are coming from I guess
which country do you live in? i know a few people who dumpster dive regularly, but than again they're squatters. its pretty good food and as far as i know there is only one spot like the one they go to in town.
:barf: I would not want to eat something that I did not know the origin of. I do not need to...but if I was homeless and starving that would be a different story. I would need to do it to survive. Gary, does your friend live with raccoons?
and of course the title let me know where this was going. I haven't laughed like that in a while, but you ate them and you're living to tell about. More power to ya!
ack thinking of eating out of the trash makes me feel really sick inside. thinking of wearing used clothing also. but piaf, the australians said they adored croatia btw.
