Finally got a appt. setup for pain management. The clinic is new here, but the Doctor is nice, and seems to know what he's talking about I'll try everything, though I hope he prescribes drugs. The percs 7.5/325 helped with breathrough pain, but not very well the the chronic pain. Any suggestions you guys can offer would be geately appreciated. Thanks, James
What is your chronic condition? Do you have Mri or X-rays to back up your chronic condition? Otherwise I really doubt you will get anything other than Vic's They don't useually give out Oxy's or anything strong without some Documantation.. Oh and be honest with the Doc. Thats what I did . I even told him I just got out rehab and he still gave me Oxy's But I do have back problems to back it up.
Chronic pain from Crohn's disease, pains been pretty constant for about a year. Internal Medicine doctor recommended I see. I'm not JUST in it for the narcotics but that should help also! Thx, Ne
Hey all, Had my PM appointment yesterday. Doc was really cool, told me all the options to pain relief, but without insurance a lot of them are not an 'option' right now. Anyway, he put me on a couple of antidepressants (strange, but I guess they help pain too), and 120 5/325 percs, with a follow up appointment in two weeks. Not the strongest in the world, but definitely not bad. Nd
That whole situation kind of sounds bad. Going in there with the hopes of getting your pain cured but also being able to get high with your script is a bad idea. With chronic pain and since you'll have a script for quite some time that sounds like an addiction waiting to happen, and without insurance it's going to get expensive
I didn't have insurance for 2 yrs. with my pain management Doc. I see him every 4 months for $100. and he writes my scripts, Oxy's once a month, and Norco every 2 weeks. He's a cool Doc. and dosen't try to rape you every month. Now I have insurance and he still only wants to see me every 4 months..
I agree, it can (has) get very expensive. But with Percs (the tylenol) I'm not looking to get *high*, cause the damage is much worse than the benefit. I'm just glad I finally have a doctor that doesn't avoid narcotics like the plague. If/when I get insurance and can try other treatment options, I will be more than happy to try them. Like everyone with cp, some relief is the main thing I'm looking for. Thanks for your advice though , Nd
Ya, it's funny cause he wanted to give me injections all the time but I couldn't afford them. I got my insurance and he gave me injections in my L5 S1. That fucking hurt, gave pain relief for a week and that was it.
Yeah, I got a 'trigger point injection' in the visit. Didn't do shit, but hurt like hell. Never had a shot right in the gut before, really feel sorry for people who need rabies shots Nd
