arghhhhh Bitchy women at work

So yesterday i had this Pt. in horrible withdrawals. I hurried up and did his assesment and biopsychosocial so he could get dosed and feel better. So I go to the nurse and hand her his file and ask her to give him a quick physical so he can get dosed. She takes her sweet ass time, meanwhile this guy is in horrible withdrawals-sweats, shaking etc.
So I say to the nurse "If you can't do it because you are to busy why don't we have so and so (the other nurse) do it?". Yes, I said this to be bitchy because she was being a bitch. Finally she does this poor guy's physical.
Today she comes in and says " Is there a reason you were rushing me to do my job because I have never had a counselor or a therapist rush me to do my job?" I replied "well yes, because he wasin withdrawals and you were being very selfish in engaging in a personal phone call instead of doing what you needed to do to get him dosed. If you would like to discuss this further let's talk about it with so and so (our boss) tommorow when she is in and I walked away.
Everyone hates this lady. The other nurse yells at her on a daily basis.
Next time she gives me shit I am going to tell her if she doesn't get along with anyone it is most likely her and not me.

there are alot of people who have absolutely no empathy for those with addiction problems. sounds like the nurse was one of those.

She's racist too. She is viatnamese and always talks about white trash or not wanting to move into a neighborhood becaase there is a mexican family living in it. She also wears suits to work because she is a real estate agent as well (who has never sold a house). The other nurses all wear scrubs...but nope she wears a suit to dose people methadone.

 

Wow that is seriously fucked up. Sounds like she is really only cares about herself. If she is gonna make herself stand out so much like a sore thumb, thats her perogative, but you really have to get in line and do your job when you are dealing with health. Like, really. Is it even sanitary for her to wear a suit there?

 

mwell, you know you could have phrased it better. like politely asking her if she could please come do the physical quick so that the guy in question could get his dose, smile while doing it, etc.
not saying she doesnt sound kinda bitchy. she does. but provoking her and pushing at ubttons like that is, well, asking for more bitchy behaviour (imho)

 

I know, I know...but the truth is I am just not that nice to people I don't like. I amnot a bitch or unprofessional, but I have a hard time faking a smile.

 

No, it's so not. Our office building is really old and she always says "this place is such a sluum I don't belong here. I belong places where other people wear suits."

 

Holy shit, has your boss ever heard her say that? We have a guy where I work who is "too good" for us, too. We're trying to slowly push him out, lol. He has a bachelor's degree and has fallen on hard times recently, so he had to "lower" himself to fast food. He's very condescending with everyone and has recently started coming and going as he pleases. Drives me nuts.

Tomorrow you should definitely talk to your boss. Sounds like everyone has a problem with this lady and if you don't take action, then she'll be allowed to screw over patients and just do an all-around shitty job. You don't need a team member like that. If your boss shrugs you off, call OSHA (or another agency of the type, I'm not exactly sure what agencies take care of healthcare places) and report her refusal to wear scrubs. That's unsanitary and she needs to either start "conforming" with the rest or go and sit on her high and mighty unsuccessful real estate pedestal.

when I lived in California I noticed TONS of uppity vietnamese immigrant ladies.

I don't know what the deal was, but they were among the most materialistic in an area corrupted by glamor

 

yeah, i hate to say it, but it was pretty bad. not so much the third and fourth generation kids, but i had school friends who wouldn't let their parents know i was their friend. they were "tutoring" me. pfft. me? whatever.

 

I hate to say it but I agree.

People at my work just have no snese of humor. If somone changed my desktop to fifty cent and put pictures of him in my office i would crack up laughing, but the receptionsist was pissed. She is viatnamese as well/
