Hey all, me and my girl are plannin a trip for next year already, haha, so any suggestions on ur favorite national parks/scenic places or basically anyplace really good to camp at......thanks!
I have always thought the Smokey Mtns were beautiful. Plus Gatlinburg is just a cool town, IMO. Interesting shops and things to do. My favorite part about the mtns(besides the natural beauty of course) are the old homes that are still standing and the old graves. Then they give you a booklet telling you about the family that used to own the home.....I love that kinda stuff though. Plus, last time I went there I saw some bears. I'm sure there are places even more beautiful to go to, but this will always be one of my favorite places. I wish you guys the best time wherever you choose to go!
Around here in TN is really pretty... Washington State is gorgeous... if you like hiking, it's great. I really loved it.
The Everglades and Florida... Hatteras Island, North Carolina... (It's a national seashore... there aren't any highrises... plus there's campgrounds all over the island). If you go in around November, all of the restaurants on the island are having big end of the season parties and they cook all of the food and give away all of their drinks for free to clear out the freezers... so we used to go down there for about $20-$30 a night at the KOA campground or Camp Hatteras in Rodanthe and fish for $6 a person at the Rodanthe pier (huge striped bass... I caught a 48 incher and a 46 incher last year)... you'll see signs for the restaurant parties.
My favorite area is the jacks fork/current river national scenic riverways. I have been alot of places, but this one is hard to beat. check it out sometime
hit yellowstone mid-september when tourism starts dying down. find employees and ask about the best campsites. i hiked to the other side of hart lake this summer (5 miles further than i was told!) but it was an awesome place to be, and i was at least 3 miles from the nearst person and on the shore of a large mountain lake. the trail was 12mi. one way, and you hike through a geyser basin before you get to the near lakeshore.
Hwy 101, Northern California ~ Red River Gorge, Kentucky ~ Concord, Massachusetts ~ anywhere in Colorado ~ upstate NY & VT ~ SW Carolina
I went to boarding school not far from here: http://www.inspirezone.org/tallulah.html http://ngeorgia.com/parks/tallulah.html The pictures do it no justice, you gotta see it.
anywhere along the west coast between the Bay Area and British Columbia. There's a reason I've lived in washington this long and a reason that I'm planning on staying on the west coast if I continue to live in this country. Oregon Coast, Olympic Peninsula and Hurricane Ridge, Sunrise at Mt. Rainier, Roslyn and Salmon la Sac (you'll see some familiar landmarks from Northern Exposure). You have beautiful snow-capped mountains, forests to get lost in, peaceful rivers and lakes, beaches, the ocean. Hell, we've even got an active volcano in Washington right now. Mt. St. Helens is spewing ash again!
Smoky Mts,Blue Ridge Mtns, Yellowstone, Rocky Mts, Black Hills, Poconos All are very beautiful- but there are other places too! Just go to all of them!
theres this really crazy large island in georgia.....the only let 40 people in at a time to hike and do primative camping....its just north of florida on the atlantic ocean.
