she is racist. so what should i do?

ok so there is a wonderful man of the african american culture that i think i am in love with. we both really care about each other. but we are only sixteen. and my mom strongly disaproves. it wont stop me from seeing him but i dont know how to make her understand that there is nothing wrong with him because of his color!

 

Uh, it says your 14? I think your in a tought situation here. Racist family members don't usually change for others. Not to mention at 16 (or 14) she probably wont take your relatiionship seriously.

I would suggest sitting down with her and trying to find out what it is that triggered her racisium and try to explain how chances are it had nothing to do with the colour of that persons skin.
