I'd like to go into law enforcement, but ive smoked weed

My question is. can u still be a police officer even though ive smoked weed? I'm 16 years old at the moment(17 in 2 months) and I'm really interested in becoming a police officer. I've smoked about 25 times, but i plan on stopping before i'm out of high school. I don't have any history of crime or anything yet, and if i keep it that way, do u guys think ill be able to be a policeman even though ive smoked weed? it's really been bothering me, i'm planning on even going to college for it.

if your clean when they test ya what difference does it make?
besides mnany states are decriminilizing or accepting legal medicinal use
the local philly papers 2 years or so ago dedicated every single article cover to cover to the legalization issue, interviewing cops the cheif of police city and state officials and pretty much every 1 came out in favor of legalization
around here cops used to sell weed rihght out of theyre patrol cars

if your careful, and smart about it u can be fbi, dea, cia whatever ya want and still smoke

yea thats probly true theyre hiring process is intence, and all the x cia and fbi ive smoked with probly started smoking after theyd been hired

Have you ever used an illegal drug (no matter how many times or how long ago) while in a law enforcement or prosecutorial position, or in a position which carries with it a high level of responsibility or public trust?

 

if the answer is yes to any of those or they catch u lying on the test u cant be fbi, unless you know, you have some friends already in there


and u need a 4yr university degree + 3yrs work experience

just join the special forces for 3yrs after highschool and ull get into the cia or fbi ez

 

Yes the cops will hire you if you've smoked marijuana. Obviously not if you smoked a month before the interview/academy/drug test but there's no real point in lying during the interview. Just admit you smoked marijuana as a teenager and it'll be fine. Plus if you say you're stopping before getting out of high school, I think the 4-8 years either in college or the military before joining the force is long enough

Friend of mine tried to join the Highway Patrol (CA) a few years ago. They have all these billboards claiming the starting salary at $76k and my friend just left the Navy. One of the questions was regarding the previous use of drugs and my friend answered honestly. They told him that, due to this, they could not hire him at that time.

 

I find that ironic, given the CIA's long history of drug trafficking (air america, contras, etc) and experimenting on people (MK-ultra, etc). Besides that though, polygraphs are beatable with practice, as well as drug tests.

 

If you become a cop please don't bust the halcyon bud users.

We would all appreciate it if you go for the people killing others.

But anyways, yea dont worry about it, there is no brug test in the world tht can check to see if you smoked like 10 years prior or whatever.
So yea if they are just gonna swab your moth, make sure that your clean for 14 hr, and if they piss test ya, just dont smoke for a month and a half and you will be fine.

 

Unless you've actually been caught smoking weed by the law, your fine bro.
