I know, I just read that in the paper. What threat is the guy? He's a pacafist! Is that considered dangerous? I can see it now, "Look out! That guy is speaking about peace and love! Run for your lives you might hear him!"

The guy wrote a song called "Peace Train." How can they say he's a threat.

That's what Jon Stewart said, "We finally caught the guy who wrote 'Peace Train'!"

Cat Stevens is GOD, as far as I'm concerned. VH1 put out a documentary on him a few years back, highlighting his peace and humantarian activism over the last several years. If you can obtain a copy, I highly recommend watching it! (Not sure where/how to find it, though.)

    Let me get this straight.

Cat Stevens isn't allowed in the US because he's been linked to terrorist organizations.

But he's running around free in Britain.

This makes Britain a nation that harbors terrorists. According to the Bush Doctrine this means it should be pre-emptively invaded. When it comes to the War on Terror you're either with us or against us.

I would expect no less from a consistent decisive leader committed to staying the course.

Maybe he'll dress up commando style again and take out Tony Blair personally.

god how many more of these threads

cat stevens wants to kill authors of books he doesnt like
    thats his view today .
he cant kill them in england yet
although 20 years ago he helped hound a author into hiding .

in my view he should have served time in jail for incitement to murder .
but the british government didnt prosecute him even though a number of people demanded that he be put on trial

he also was deported from isreal for giving money to terrorists

what I would do if your interested is read some of the other threads there are some in america attacks one in music one in hippies

do not just accept what cat stevens has to say or what the media says about him

someone earlier said cat stevens is god
do you believe in the right of being able to write a book without the fear of being killed

do you think someone who wants governments to kill people who write books is god

He has stated time and time again the quote on killing the author was taken out of context. He was quoting from the Quran. If you read the bible you will see many pasages about killing for far less.

Ive seen what he says about the rushdie affair and hes telling lies ,

he appeared on national tv a number of times I saw him so did millions of other people living in the uk.

below is a link to what he said on one programme, he was worse on others newnight on bbc2 was much worse but I cant find a record of it online

    http://partners.nytimes.com/books/99/04/18/specials/rushdie-cat.html

him and his terrorist financing friend kalim siddequi making death threats against someone who thought about making a film about the satanic verses

again this was filmed I saw it

a extract from the man they made the threats against

Farrukh Dhondy: "In the first week of the fatwa against Rushdie and his book, I appeared on a television panel. Among the Muslim panelists, all of whom favored condemning the book, were two zealots: the same Kalim Siddiqui; and Yusuf Islam, the Muslim convert pop singer of Greek Cypriot origin formerly known as Cat Stevens. The moderator asked if, in my role as a commissioning editor of Channel 4 UK, I would contemplate turning The Satanic Verses into a film. I said that I would judge the cinematic merits of the script, and that no other consideration would rule it out. Kalim Siddiqui and Yusuf Islam snarled, warning that the sentence of death on Rushdie would extend to all those who forwarded his book in any way."
this is a link to the full statement
    http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=4612

According to a May 2003 GQ Article by Jake Tapper (unfortunately not available online, as best as I can tell), Stevens gave 4000 pounds - in two separate meetings - to Sheikh Jamil Hamami - a senior Hamas operative.

In 1991, the Japanese translator of "The Satanic Verses" was stabbed to death and the translator of the Italian version was knifed. A few days ago, his Norwegian publisher was shot twice in the back a number of bookshops bombed

and nowhere in his recent statements does he say people who write books like rushdie shouldnt be killed , all he says is that he wont kill them if they are in the west .

thats the important part really not what he did then, what he still believes and is working towards
