the punk i listen to talks about other stuff..i dont' know what the fuck you assholes are talking about..it's fun lighthearted music..it makes me happy.

Thanks dude. I for one am just sick to death of scensters just looking for another scene to be a part of, and that is what punk is: a scene. That being said, you can't blame people for wanting to fit in though eh?

I don't like punk rock, but I love modern alternative rock. And I can also safely say I don't like older rock at all, but I'm not going to sit here and tell people thye suck because they don't like what I listen to. It's your life, your own figgin' choice, listen to whatever the hell you want to, that's what I say!

 

this thread is a lot like the rap is crap one, people who watch muchmusic or mtv and than they base there reasons for hating a genre on that, so much close mindedness. ITs fucking annoying. There are good quality punk bands out that dont have shitty guitar/bass/drum tabs you just have to look for them, they are all underground mainly.

 

I don't like much punk,but ol school MISFITS is the shit!

 

I have to say that for the most part, i dont really like that much punk rock, the music in this case just doesnt appeal to me. However, having said that I do love Greenday and the Clash - i have the new Greenday album and i love it to bits!! The clash were the original punk band and Joe strummer was pretty cool. Modern day punk however really doesnt do anything for me tho....bands like Rancid, NOFX,Dead kennedy's etc etc.

Bullshit...MC5, Velvet Underground, The New York Dolls, Cock Sparrer, The Saints, and Pretty Things, ever heard of any of them(im sure you have)...they started punk...

For the record: the Clash werent REAL punk...its like green day, or Good Charlotte...the 101'ers were Joe Strummer's real punk band...

But like Crass said: Punk is Dead...(except in boston or seatle)

 

Just for the record.... Dead Kennedys are not a "modern day" band, they were around from the late 70s and split over 20 years ago..... and if you're referring to the band that have toured a few times lately with the same name, they don't count... where's Jello...?
