I find that listening to Tangerine Dreams, Phaedra while falling asleep is great. Also Brian Enos, Ambient 1 : Music for Airports is good as well.

    what are your favorites?

Both of those are great choices.

I also enjoy classical music as I am falling to sleep.

I particularly like listening to Megadeath, Metallica, Van Halen (early Van Halen), and Warrant. Poison is another good one.

I like to play Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon to fall asleep to, it's awesome...I used to listen to Lord of the Rings soundtracks, but it got too old.

    1) a lot people find quiet static, radio noise, etc. help them sleep.
    2) they probably think they're being really funny.

I rather enjoy listening to Miles Davis's improv classic "Kind of Blue". I find it most relaxing and I love the mood it creates. I used to listen to it alot when I was younger and smoked pot like a train. Those were great times and I guess hearing it kinda invokes those memories each time.

I've been putting on everynight for the past month and its very important to me.

"Kind Of Blue" is best listened to 4-6am, when some people are getting up with hangovers and others are going to bed drunk.

I too like Ambient 1 : Music for Airports, it's a good cd. But I love listening to Moby when I just want to relax.
