I looked but did not see a recipie for brownies. Maybe I missed it, but oh well. Here is my recipie for the perfect brownies.

    2 cups of sugar
    7 tablespoons Hershey's cocoa
    1 cup melted butter

    4 eggs
    1 cup flour
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    1 teaspoon baking powder

    Optionals:
    1/2 cup of walnuts
    1/4 ounce of good green
    1 cup melted peanut butter

Combine the first three ingredients in a large mixing bowl and then add 1 egg at a time mixing to incorporate. Add the rest of the ingredients. Take a 13x9 inch baking dish and spray with a cooking spray or rub with butter. Pour mixture into pan and bake at 350 degrees on middle rack of oven or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let rest for an hour and then cut brownies with a plastic knife.

Notes: If you add melted peanut butter to the recipie(my favorite) increase flour by 1/4 cup and add 1 extra teaspoon of baking powder.

These are my fav to make, but not the best I've had. I just think they're cute! The recipie really makes more like 8 of them-not 12. I usually double it so there's lots for everyone :D Edit-and with the left overs that didn't make heart status I freeze them to put them in homeade ice cream because Martha's idea is a bit gross if you're making them for friends or to bring to work.
    Brownie Hearts
Prep: 20 minutes Total: 1 hour Ingredients
    Serving: Makes 12 hearts
1/2 Pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, plus more for cake pan
    2 1/2 Cups packed light-brown sugar
6 Ounces unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
    4 large eggs
    2 Teaspoons pure vanilla extract
    2 Cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 Teaspoon salt
Confectioners' sugar, granulated sugar, cocoa powder,, for coating bites
    Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees;. Butter a 9-by-13-inch cake pan. Cut a piece of waxed paper to fit the bottom, and press it onto buttered surface. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, and chocolate. Microwave on high for 1 minute; stir. If the chocolate is not softened, continue to microwave at 10-second intervals, removing before completely melted.
Beat the eggs and vanilla into the melted chocolate with a wooden spoon. Beat in the flour and salt. Pour into prepared pan, and smooth the top. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool.
Run a knife around the edge of the pan. Turn the brownie cake out onto a baking sheet, and flip over onto a work surface. Cut out the brownies with a 2 1/2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter. Dust with cocoa if you like. Form the scraps into 1-inch balls, and roll them in the coating of your choice.

I'm not vegan, but these dairy free/egg free brownies are my absolute favourites - you so don't miss the 'missing' ingredients. They are especially great if you have Vegan friends (or are out of milk and eggs :) )

    2 1/3 cups flour
    1 cup water
1 cup margarine (but you can make them non-vegan and use butter)
    2/3 cups cocoa powder
    1 2/3 cups white sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    200g roughly chopped dark chocolate

    1. Mix 1/3 cup flour in saucepan with the water. Stir constantrly, on medium heat until the mixture is signifigantly thickend and boiling (or on the verge of boiling). Cool completely.

    2. Melt margarine in microwave & then stir in cocoa powder.

    3. Beat sugar, salt, & vanilla into the flour-water mixture. Add cocoa mixture & stir well.

    4. Stift together the rest of the flour & baking powder, then add the liquids

    5.Bake at 350 F or 180 C for 20-25 min.

This is also really good with chilli powder added. Put in a couple of spoonfuls with the cocoa

Those sound awesome! Have you ever tried making them with any kind of whole-grain flour?-just curious as to how they would turn out.

I have been getting "Milk Chocolate" Brownies made by DUNKIN HINES and they are the best brownies I have had in years!!

It says to use 3 tablespoons water but we use whole milk as it tastes even better!!
