So, im white/hispanic and i have thick dark brown hair. Back when i was a freshman in high school i wanted dreads, but decided to try growing my as it naturally grew. It didnt work out, my hair is too thick to be long as i tried it. So now im thinking about dreads again.

Can my thick hair be tamed into dreads, and if so, what method can you best reccomend from experience.

Or should i not go into this?

    thanks

They won't lock up properly with wax...

I've been thinking about it too, but my job won't allow. Then, I've been looking for reasons to quit for about a year now....one more won't hurt. ;)

    do not order the kit
its 80 freakin bucks for nothing more usefull then a 50 cent comb
    the rest is pure crap

read the dreasdlock forum posted above and ignore everything u read on dreadheadhq and oither sites

never use weax or products that leave residues wax is allll residue u need clean residue free hair toi dread
    wax is anti dread
so are sites that tell yoiu to put anything in your hair to dread...
dreads happen on theyre own in xclean hair
all u need is time and patience
\backcomb ifd your really impoatient but do nothing else...no wax, no gunk, justy keep em clean

Dreadlocks my arse. Just stick to your long dark brown hair son. You will find that dreadlocks are more problem than they are worth. Plus not all people's hair is suitable for dreadlocks. I wanted dreads once. I ended up looking like the statue of liberty or a punk. I felt so let down. Wax is the best choice anyway.

^^all people's hair will dread if you give it the chance and have patience with it. even super straight asian hair will dread. also, if you use wax, your hair probably won't dread. or if it does, it will take forever. and the dreads will not be healthy.

if you used wax, J0hn, that's probably why you ended up looking like the statue of liberty or a punk.
