I'm not much of a gamer, I play chess, Golf and casino games mostly. Are there any real decent ones out there I might check out? MUST be Non-violent like Pong used to was...

I'm not much of a gamer either, and most of what I play is chess... which is why I'm attracted towards strategy games.

In my opinion the best game for PC, and also the best video game ever created for any platform in the world is the Civilization series. You play a civilization from birth and build it up through religion, diplomacy, expansion, trading, conquest, and so on and forth.

It's a very intellectual game, which is why not a lot of people play it...

But anyhow, you might like it...

    Read about it abit.

I loved Civilization. You can probably buy it at Walmart now for $5 in the bargain games section. Now days I haven't got the time or patience to play it, but it is still a top 10 type of game.

If you load up Linux, you can have all kinds of games like Civ, chess, golf, pong, blackjack, gl-117, mines, konquest, blackbox, tux racer, free- cell, four in a row, potatoe guy, tetravex, astroids, snake duel, trackballs, tali, sudoku, etc etc etc etc. A whole suite of games is installed by default in Fedora and Ubuntu, not to mention the mountain of desktop games you can download for free. Thousands of free games. Only a small percentage of them are violent or shooter games. That leaves lots of games for you.

If you like simpler games, this place will keep you busy. All demos, but you can buy the ones you like.

Well, it is violent, but you can't go wrong with any of the half-life series.

If your graphics card can handle it. Oblivion.

morrowwind can play on any really, if your card can't handle Oblivion.

You don't have to be violent on it.
