Soccer might not be big in the US, but it is the number 1 sport in the rest of the world. So it is definately not just soccer.

I was once in a football game in Honduras (Honduras vs. Argentina), and the "sun" seats (the really cheap ones) broke into a fight right in front of my eyes... riot police and everything. More than 30 people seriously injured.

It was badass.

 

people go loco over football. especially in south american and mediterranean countries.

oh, and the english. let's not forget them.

 

i dont' get the point in disliking either of them...both are great sports.

 

Soccer is an amazing sport!
When the national team plays its like a national holiday here.

 

American Football: 30 seconds of OMGWUT followed by 5 minutes of the refs figuring out what happened and them setting up for the next 30 seconds.
Repeat for and hour and 45 minutes.

 

Yes, American Football is an idiotic sport.

Brilliant quarterbacks though... and interesting plays.

Yet... oh so bloody dull. You can compare the fucker to Cricket... I don't know how people can watch that shit for hours.
