Plant roots

    Plant roots also need oxygen. How do they get it?

    In good loose, organically rich soil that is not waterlogged, adequate oxygen should be available. In hydroponic systems it is often necessary to bubble air (using an aquarium pump) through the solution surrounding the roots.
