I turn the heat down and it just turns off...and when I have my heater on, it's hot as balls.

    I can't win.

I like to be a little cold at night, but I like to wake up to a warm room because it makes it easier to get out of bed.

I wish it was 68 degrees in my room right now instead of 800.

i know what you mean there... it's almost impossible to get out of bed now that i keep it in the high 50s to low 60s here at night (ever since that first electric bill since i started on electric heat... jesus!). i start to sit up, but i can just feel the frigidity, so i hit the snooze button and lay back down... several times a day

Awww, I am a bit hot right now too, air conditioning is doing fuck all.

I'm intrigued about this desert island you live on?

How big? What do people do there? Most of the desert islands here are nature reserves, mines or oilfields. Do you like it there? Sorry to pry, just sounds interesting.

It's 22 miles long and 8 miles across at the biggest point. There are about 80% of the island is owned by the Nature Conservancy. People here work in the tourist industry mostly, though I work in Marine Eduction. We have the best diving and snorkeling in the United States, which is really awesome.

In general I like it here, though, my family is thousands of miles away which is hard. The island in itself is beautiful though...

Wow, that sounds really cool. I'll put that on my "islands i want to visit" list next to Cape Breton and Tasmania.
