I guess this is sort of suitable for this forum

So my hair's been starting to dread itself lately, no matter how much I try to resist. Every time I wash my hair I use conditioner, and sometimes the sort of detangling stuff that you can leave in your hair. And no matter how much I try to comb away the dreadies they still stay there persistantly, and even if I manage to get rid of one you can be sure it's back the next day. It's bizarre. :D So anyway, I was wondering if you guys had any tips on how to handle my badly behaving hair? Coz as much as I like dreads I just don't want them on me.

    ignore that...lol

but sounds to me like no matter what u wantr they want theyre own thing
u can go on and on adding stuff, conditioning like crazy then comb till your sick of combing, or u can let em do theyre thing

u could maybe keeep it real short, use gels and crap to control it,

if its worth it to u to not have dreads just spend more time daily combing it
if your tinme could be used for something better, then let it dread

Let your hair be free and do what it will. Don't fight the dreads, man. :]

sounds like my hair before I got my dreads.
I got sick of fighting it. I used to use aussie shampoo, that worked really well on getting the knots out

My oldest is having this problem
I caught her putting lotion in her hair.. lol
She says she wants dreads but wants to wait till I start my new set

    guess I wasn't much help
hmmm... there was this purple hair serum I used before I had dreads.. it was like frizz ease or something :S

i have this issue too. at first i just had really bad sex hair, but now it's to the point that if i don't brush my hair before and after i sleep i get like 17 massive dreads regardless of anything else i try. i seriously think my hair back combs itself in my sleep, and it hurts like hell brushing them out. if anyone has any ideas... do share. :]

Well I ended up spending about three hours just brushing the dreads out  Soo much hassle... That was two days ago and since then I've had my hair on French braids to stop it from knotting. Seems to work :D

I use "L'Oreal Hair Detangler Spray for Kids". It works very well for me.

I haven't used this spray for a week and my hair is dreading like crazy.

I've tried that :D It smells so yummy, however it does nothing for my hair except make it really sticky.
