:) Hi , I'm new to finding fungi. I live in the Bay area and have recently been to wander the hills where the cows pasture. After the rains I have discovered its the right season. Is there any danger in consuming the fungi I pick from the cow patties? How can i preserve these 5 mushrooms until I get the next weekend to take a trip?
I'd appreciate any help you could offer.

    Cheers,
    The Seeker

yes there is danger. as a first time picker i wouldn't try them without having someone with experience verify them. there are many different types of mushrooms out there.

anyway, as far as preserving them for a week? think about how mushrooms are packaged at the grocery store. plastic container with plenty of air holes. thats how they keep them here in amsterdam, they sell them fresh.
