"30, 2, & Tams" sounds like an old slang or a dance from the 1920's. *LOL*. Anywho, I just turned 30 this Friday, and my dreads turned 2 months old - not as major a milestone as the rest of me, but I love them muchly and they make me happy so I thought I'd share. My other reason for this thread is a tam question. How does one wear a tam? (And if any of you say, 'on your head' I'll chainsaw you in half! *LOL*) Do guys wear them different from gals? I wear mine with my hair all tucked up in it and I look like an old lady. Any thoughts? Thanks! You guys rock.
Locks are looking spectacular brother. I love the curls. As for wearing tams I put it on my head, stuff my locks up inside, then seat it farther back on my head. As far as I know guys and gals do not wear them differently and yes tams make me look like an old lady as well. I wear them for functional purposes though for the most part so I'm not to concerned about how it looks.
Oh yeah, those are gonna mature wonderfully. I've never worn a tam, so no advice there. I've been browsing around etsy though and maybe once tax season is over, I'll be able to order something!
Lovely locks brother! And happy birthday! I wear tams on occasion. Depending on the style of it and my mood, I either just stick it on my head and stuff my locks in as I can, or I tie my locks up first so that it's just a matter of pulling the tam over the bunch of 'em. I almost never wear a hat that doesn't pull back or conceal my locks in some way, I see no point in it. But it is nice sometimes to leave the house and let my hair be a mystery to the rest of the world.
wow those are looking gorgeous.as for the tam i usually roll all my hair up, put the tam on then shake my hair so it falls into the tam, I usually leave one or two poking out as I dont like having a bare face
happy birthday the locks are looking wonderful, wow you're in for a great trip hm... dunno what to say about the tam, no bloke I've ever seen wearing one looks like an old lady. and hardly any women in tams look like old ladies either. the title of this thread makes me think of a really ancient catch-phrase from like the 1920s, 23-skidoo peace!
Thanks everyone! *LOL* When I see myself in a tam, I think of that dude who played the 'chicken lady' on 'The Kids in the Hall.' But, I'm getting used to it. Haven't worn head gear in ages. Maybe that's it. Shufflin' off to buffalo... 23-skidoo! *LOL* Man, that kills me.
