Good move, although I will miss the name Knotty Know-How.

I just did a search on google for "dreadlocks forums" and this forum was the first hit.

Unfortunately it may take forever to get this place even on the first page of results when searching for just "dreadlocks."

I think everybody should include a "signature" at the end of every post made in this forum, simply containing the word "dreadlocks" to increase the chances of this showing up closer to the top. Now, I dont' mean the same signature in which you guys have photos and quotes. Basically just at the end of every post you make, type it out. Anybody know if this would eventually work?

Is it true that companies like dreadheadhq.com can pay to be located at or near the top of keyword search results?

I admit I really don't know anything about this kind of stuff, I'm just thinking.....:spliff:

    depends
actualy each engine weighs things differently
repeatted too often your penalized too few and your fogotten
    dreadlock
weighs more then say (not outside link..fake link ) dreadlocks
which well you get the idea, some count the alt texts in images some dont
words closer together have different weights as well, it can be a headache to keep ontop of
and if i just say dreadlocks 10 times in a row might knock u outta 1 engine and up in another
this is why some sites use the multiple doorway approach targetting different doorway pages to different engines optimised for maybe a dozen or so phrases

forums being multithreaded with dynamicly growing content provided by tons of people must be weighed differently too im sure..have no clue though

    ping.

also: i think it's a little unfair that we were unable to discuss it, but someone was able to take our idea for using "dreadlock" in the title of the site to increase search engine traffic.
