HEATH CALLED, IS THERE ANYONE IN PHILLY WHERE HE CAN STAY, CALL ME, IF ANYTHING HE SAID HE ISN'T STAYING SHELTER, OUT THERE. LINDA lindasafley@hotmail.com
Drummin Mamma, I am wondering why you would ask for anyone to use lower case,, some folks cant see well enough to use the lower case, not sure if thats what this sisters need is, but still. Alot of times people use cap's and lower case, I've never seen anyone say anything to them.Sorry this is off the subject, but it seems like whatever I see what you have written, it is just to tell other people what to do.I'm all for sisters bein strong, we all make mistakes. See ya in Wyoming. This is a hard way to communicate sometimes, the message one may mean to send, doesnt always look to others what it is they actually meant. Peace & Light strong one,, no offense meant ,just wonderin.
sorry I still live with my parents. best bet would be to contact soaring eagle on here. he may know people. good luck!
I am wondering why you would ask for anyone to use lower case My own problem with most uses of all upper-case is that it's much easier to read a post that's in all caps. When someone does this, it makes their comment stand out above the others near it. If someone has vision problems, they will usually set their browser for larger text, but the person whose comment is in caps will still be noticed more than those who type normally. Since that post was the only one, with no other comments to "compete" with, and seemed urgent enough to "shout" anyways, I wouldn't object in this specific case. Not that it hurts to clue someone in on "netiquette," so I have no criticisms of anyone in this case. Earthling2: If that's a personal phone you wish to keep, I suggest that once you've found shelter for your son, come back and edit your post and remove the phone number. And not just for security reasons. If a long distance telephone carrier gets hold of it, you could be hit with lots of daily automated test calls, and have no legal recourse (part of my job involves doing just that, and we often have to find test numbers via the web, though we mostly try to use phones at hotels and businesses if possible).
b/c all caps is yelling, and she does it consistently. it's rude to go all caps, and some people find it harder to read (the serif, feet, on the letters is very helpful for some folks.)
Mamma, I truly believe that it is also a generational thing. The younger you are the more that you believe that when all caps is used it's screaming and sometimes it's not even to show screaming, but to show emotions. Like if I type I am so CRAZY sad right now, I cannot wait to move out of NJ. I'm not screaming crazy, but I am letting the reader know that crazy is the word that is emphasized. I may have said it in a weird voice but not necessarily a loud voice. The older you are (no offense to those that are our elders, I truly resepect) but most don't have a clue about computer lingo so I know it's hard to interpret things on the internet. For example, my mother (65 yrs old) is college educated, but I can guarantee you she would have no clue what uppercase means. But with our sister who consistently uses upper case, I believe that we can come to a conclusion that she a) doesn't realize what that means in computer world and b) that she is not yelling at us and c) in a way she is correct in using upper case screaming for help for her son! So really truly she's right for using upper case in our youngin' world! HELP MY SON PLEASE! I would be screaming that wouldn't you? She's not hurting anyone so basically it comes down to WHO CARES! (and I wasn't screaming my voice was sarcastic sounding) The internet has NO rules as to what is what. What it comes down to is a sister that is trying to help her son. That's what this thread should be focusing on. Not wheter or not she used upper or lower case. Wish I could help, but I know nobody in Philly... Love you all.
