So after contemplating my options as far as my opiate addiction I finally decided that Suboxone would be the best option. I went to the Dr. yesterday and he gave me 3, 8mg pills to get me through the next couple days until I can afford to buy my prescription (I don't have insurance) I wont have the money until Friday so I choose to start the pills tomorrow to make sure I have enough. Also the day prior the only thing I could get was Methadone (I normally take 30mg oxycodone around 4pills a day). So I know the methadone stays in your system for a while and I am concerned about the fact it may cause me to go through the awful withdrawal symptoms they warn you about if you take the Suboxone before you are in moderate withdrawal. So pretty much I had 2 30's today and plan on taking the suboxone when I wake up in the morning. Does anyone know how soon is too soon to take the suboxone??? Also has anyone used it...if so what was your experience with it... did it help??? Just nervous I didn't realize how scary the thought of now doing pills anymore is...oh one more question... has anyone used cocaine while on Suboxone... will it make you sick or hurt you??? I've been on Suboxone since Dec. I take 24 mg a day. I've only drank, eaten some Xannys, and took some E, but thats about it. I'm commin' off a 2 year run and the shit's a total wonder drug
ummmm Xanex...at my appt yesterday the Dr. said that if you take benzo's while on suboxone it can kill you!!!
Supposedly you start withdrawing 6 hours after your last opiate dose but I would probably wait until you woke up the next morning after a good nights sleep and take it. You will be able to tell obviously when your in withdrawal because you feel like ass. I have used suboxone myself but only for a few days in a row to get passed the physical symptoms that occur during the first few days of detox. It works very well with making you feel normal -- little to no cravings and very minor discomfort.
The only reason your doc said that was because the combo does slow your breathing. Doctors dont like to prescribe both just because of that fact. I'm prescribed both but at very controlled levels. I plan to start weaning off in two weeks. I'll keep you posted...
I just went to a clinic in Plattsburgh today, my suboxone induction is tomorrow morning. I just did my "last" 40 of OC, I'm hoping I won't have any precipitated withdrawals, my suboxone dose will be at 7.30 tomorrow morning. I am coming off a 160-200mg a day habit... insights on how I'll feel tomorrow? Good luck with the subs, I've had enough of being a full time junky and need my life back. Hoping this will help me get through the first few months.
I was just really tired from what I remember. I started off at 16mg but after a few days of that I still wasnt' feeling too hot. So I bumped up to 24mg. Still @ 24mg but plan to drop in 2 weeks to 20mg. This was due to a fierce heroin habit. But yeah, I was really fuckin' tired for about a week or two. I started off with Subutex then after like a month I moved onto Suboxone. The only real side effect is get is that now I have a hard time sleeping so they placed me on Seroquel. I had to practicly fight my doc to give me some Xanax because of the two interactions. But the Colonidine helps with the chillls and hot flashes a little at first. Best of luck
does anyone know how long you have to wait to do oxy after you take suboxone to get the FULL effects, and would subs mess up your tolerance?
I think it depends on various things. Like lenght of time you've been taking subs, how much daily, etc. I would have to say give yourself at least several days so you don't get all sick from the naloxone.
