Our mind is just a computer. If you think about it, you have to accept it. First off thats the only way it coudl work. If things in the mind were actually random and had to say flip a coin for one thing to the next then people woudl be unrealistically unpredicatble. They might start running when they dont intend to or anything like that. Since the mind doesnt acutally have any way to do things random everything has to be for a reason. Its just a bunch of wires, connections what ever you want to call it. They are sending signals all over. Its just a computer. So what actually is artificial intelligence. Its just a non living human. We could design a computer to function just like a person way to many lines of code for us to make now, but its possible. If we can make a simple human we could make an exact one. And if thats possible why are we any differnt. Also, take a look at my other thread "A way to predict the future"
If you hang out in the religious forum, I drive this point home quite often. But I also make it clear that there's a soul that operates it. x
well mind is not true self, but it is the os that runs on the brain, including its interface to it. yes MIND is "just a computer" or more accurately, software that runs on the organic computer that is your physical brain. YOU, are not however, limited to your mind. there IS an "end user" which is your true self. the integration is pretty "seamless" though, to the point hardly anyone would notice, even if they were looking for it. =^^= .../\...
Uhm.... I don't think that's going to happen. I mean it's going to take people to make the robot people? However, I would like to dedicate this video to the OP. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2moXt9bAXU
if we could build machines capable of hosting spirits, then we could transfer our own souls/spirits to them if we were so inclined. some day we may well have developed this, again though, if we should happen to have or develop the cultural inclination to move in that direction. i don't think that cultural inclination exists in sufficient popularity today. it may develop in the future though. whether or not it does, there's nothing inevitable about it either way. =^^= .../\... as for sentience evolving out of computing capacity, i don't see that happing as such ever, because there seems, at least to me, to be something else, if not more, involved. =^^= .../\...
