we did have some1 post bout that awhile ago, from what i remember they were a mess its a chemical process isnt it? theres a few threads bout it burried i bet.. logicly to me sounds like itd be a mess im sure there were 1 or 2 basic rule of thumb though, when ya get dreads, your not runnin to the salon all the time, so why go there to get dreads? your basicly goin there sayin ya know what i dont njeed ya no more and expectin them to give ya the berst way to be free of them.. get your hair clean..play with it a bit give it time & see what happens backcomb if u think u gotta dont freakout when its takin its own time and course
well tbh i wouldnt want a dread perm, all those chemicals can cause serious damage BUT i suppose its a quick way to get your dreads started. Bear in mind that the dread perm will still come undone over time and go fuzzy if u dont maintain it. I mean its basically back combing hair and them dumping chemicals on it to keep it in that position permenantly. http://infohost.nmt.edu/~smoore/dreads.html heres a link thats been posted here before. shes started with a dread perm and her dreads turned out pretty sweet (with maintenance ofc) and im sure some of her perms were congoed together too...check it out
I tried using it after I had dreads for 2 weeks, they didn't look like dreads, so I tried, but it didn't do a thing :S
should I feel bad that I don't know what a dread perm is? Prolly not. just followed that link in one of the posts... her hair just looks curly, not at all like dreads. is it just when you perm your hair to make it really really curly, so it will lock up faster?
hm. just found some pictures of dread perms. I've never seen anything like that. they look like they've got noodles on their heads
in reference to the youtube video, those dreads looked better before the weird dread perm. Lookin like wet noodles and shit.
