HELP!Input needed!

Ok so heres the story ill make it short so you dont have to kill yourself. Me and 2 friends were smoking behind this building called Lincoln. We were passing around a blunt casually and 2 RA's(resident assistants im in college) start coming toward us. My one friend got away but we got stuck cus we didnt run. (i know its stupid but we thought we better not). So we ditched the blunt dont know how and they asked us if we had been smoking weed. We said no. They asked us again 2 times and we said no. They said we can do this the easy way or the hard way so me and my friend said that we smelled like weed because we smoked like an hour ago off campus but we hadn't been smoking then. So they were like you guys reek of weed so follow me. We get inside lincoln and they tell us to give them our id's so we do and they tell us we have a university hearing. I looked up what can happen and i can get fined 100 bucks, 10 hours of community service, and parental notification if im not found innocent. Ok the hearings arent like court they are with like the RA admin. Heres the good news we did smell of weed but they had nothing on us. Suggestions on how i can defend myself would be awesome thanks.

 

Smelling like weed doesn't make you guilty of smoking it.However your friend already admitted you smoked earlier... nice job

Since they have no proof other than your friends admission, i wouldn't sweat it too much.
Keep in mind, the university will probably trust the RA more than what you say..

I'd say you woulda got off scott free if your friend shut his mouth ... =/ good luck

Also do you think we could lie and say we never said that cus we can always say that we smoked another time. We were also thinking about saying since she did say that ppl smoke their all the time and spread the word to your little friends not to smoke here that maybe someone else smoked before we got there. Cus we were smokeing there for like only 3 min. Anyway like i said my defense is they have no proof and that we were smoking cigs and we did light one up when they came over there.

 

Just say you were hanging around some people off campus who were smoking or you were at a party or something but say you didn't touch any. If they ask why you were acting dopey say you were drunk

 

that is def a good idea except my friend said that we smoked an hour earlier. I was thinking of saying along the lines that i was pressured into saying yes because everytime i said no they kept asking me again and again.

No its not illegal but i am 18 and what i am saying is that saying i was drunk wouldnt really help my cause because they could actually slap a fine on me for being drunk in public and it is illegal if your not 21 even though they dont really care. Damn that sux. Thats why I'm glad I live in Australia. We're adults when we are 18 & we can be drunk in public (unless its a dry zone)....bro

UPDATE: Ok so heres the plan, me and my friend are going to say that we hadnt smoked and that they basically were power hungry. Also we are going to say that just because we smell like it doesnt mean we have it or do it. Right now its looking like we are going to get off since they never found anything.
