    Hey, hi!
I go by Moon Beam, & I hail from the mountains of Colorado.

I won't be in Colorado for much longer--in May I'm moving to Oklahoma with my boyfriend. Sometimes I wake up at night worrying about being the only liberal in an extremely evangelical/conservative city.

But I am also extremely excited to be spreading good vibes to people who need them, & to be sharing my love with anyone who will listen. It seems that there are more people in Oklahoma who need to wake up than there are in Colorado.

Anyway, this is not only my introduction, but my first post, & I hope to share some really thought-invoking conversations with many of you.

    Peace & Love,
    Moon Beam

    hey moonbeam
i maybe moving to ok or co myself soon
be careful in ok though..theres some psychos
my freind im movin there with lived in tulsa, her husbands familky burned absolutrely everything she owned for having different views then them..theyre lil on the extreme side true, but theres alotta closed mindedness (luckily theres a lil bit of a more enlightened scene sprouting too though)
we';re still not sure if we'll end up in ok mo or co, we're hoping for co though
where ijn ok atrre ya movin? i know theres at least a few sane foklks round muskogee that i know of
    anyways welcome, stay safe
and remember, some are not ready to see the light, if ya try shinning a lil light into theyre lives and theyre vission wont allow them to see, the resulting blindness may cause them to strike out with fire, ..dont get frustrated when they close theyre minds to ya, dont try to pry em open either, just be glad your not them and walk away, otherwise ya never know how they may reacte

    Hi Soaring Eagle,
It's always a risk you take... when you open your mind, you may be opening yourself up for some backlash. But trust me, I'm well-versed in dealing with crazies! You gotta keep shinin' the love, but I know what you mean about people who don't want to hear, feel, or receive it.
I will be in Tulsa.. it's a beautiful place. We spent last summer there, so at least I know how to get around, but we'll see how it is when I'm a resident & not just a visitor.
As far as your friend's husband's family... My boyfriend's parents are similar! Though, I doubt they would actually burn my things... They are sweet as pie, but they buy into all that O'Reilly bullsh*t & they always have a few choice words for me. (They never say it directly, though, they just make it a point to ridicule hippies, new age stuff, & liberals...not to mention the inevitable joke about killing animals for food.) Ah well, they're soft at heart, they just don't know any better... kill 'em with kindness, no?
Let me know if you land in OK! It would be nice to have someone to compare notes with.

As far as Colorado..... I know you'd love it. I'm going to miss it desperately. There are a millions different things to see & do, & some of the most beautiful people come from here! What town would you be moving to?

lookin round the springs but havent found what were lookin for yet
were actualy lookin in a pretty wide area,

my freind i was talkin bout moved to tulsa just cause 1 day she found a keychain that said tulsa..lol year after movin there was married to this indian dude and yea his family was crazyk, meth deallin alcaholic bible thumpers (the bible thumpin maybe the worse of the addictions) really pretty crazy shit..
i have a bujncha freinds in the surrpounding asreas, but always had a bad impression of tulsa from all her horrorstories
so were kinda lookin to get a place as far from tulsa as possible and still be within what might be a reasonable drivin distance for the ex to see the youngestt (but outta stalking distance)
co or mo seemed good choices

Are you thinking Colorado Springs or Glenwood Springs? I grew up in the Glenwood area, so my heart will always be there. Plus, there are less churches & more open-minded people in the mountains. But, if you're looking to be near a real city, CO Springs or the Denver area are your only choices.

Tulsa's really not bad. If I HAD to choose a place to live in Oklahoma, it would be there or OK City, just because the more people, the more chance you have of finding like-minded folks. I have friends from other towns (villages??) in OK with only 300 or 400 people, & they say it's fairly depressing.

One thing I will say about Oklahomans: They are (mostly) the nicest people I've ever met. If they stay away from political talk & religious talk, they will treat you with a kindness that I rarely find in Denver.
But again, I'm just a simple mountain girl, & the big city is sometimes beyond me.

    Peace & Love,
    Moon Beam
