There is a difference between someone who is trying to scam you and someone that needs help. If you talk to them long enough you can figure it out. If someone needs help, I am going to help them. Like I said earlier I have to help someone who asks me.
yea exactly...I will admit I have seen some people giving sob stories about this and that and how they needed gas, and all they did was get enough money to buy their beer and then drove off in their already gassed SUV or whatever. Now that is a low life scam. But I can't help but have sympathy for someone who is in a real situation, or someone on hard drugs out in the street. I won't necessarily give them money, because that aint just what they need, but I sure as hell won't act like Im disgusted by them and then go talk shit about them to feel better about myself. But granted, there are no good scam artists...even them, I do have sympathy for, because well what a sad life. How sad that a life came can come to that. But I won't befriend them and let them work their scam on me.
So what if they scam you? Clearly, they needed money for something, or at least thought they did. And there's never a wrong reason to do the right thing.
well I dont really think its the "right thing" the give money to someone who uses other humans without regard and especially when it seems as though they really didn't need the money, or were just going to do something with it that is actually bad for them in the end. I dont have an infinite supply of money, and I have people who depend on me, so although I wish I could just give handouts to whoever asks, I do have to pick and choose.
You. jk... I dont know. I wasn't implying anything, just sayin. Anyway, you're really pretty, and I don't want to fight with you.
Sometimes others have to depend on the kindness of strangers... even if she did want to spend it on drugs you didn't have to be a dick....
Well although I respect you opinion... If someone is begging for money as a scam, they are affirming their lack in life. The fact is if they used their craftiness in a legitimate job they would be making more money then they would be begging. Handing money to a scam artist affirms that they do not have a way to make a legitimate income. This hurts them. Someone who needs help is in an energy of helplessness. They need confirmation that the world will help them if they just ask. It is an affirmation that the world is a place of compassionate people who are willing to help. It does not really matter, as I said in my first post if someone gets my attention and asks...scam artist or not. I will help. I have learned if you hold on to nothing you have everything.
But who are you to say they are scamming? Furthermore, who are you to say they are wrong to scam? None of us are able to pass judgement. Just give if you can, and if you can't, at least don't ignore them. Just a friendly, "Sorry, I'm broke," will suffice. But to refuse to give due to an assumption of wrongdoing on their part is just as low as anyone scamming on the street.
As I said in the previous post scamming is affirming you lack. I like to affirm abundance. Also as I said in the previous post. Scamer or not if they get my attention and ask, I will give.
I never would treat them badly because they are scamming me, but like I said I am not a rich man by any means..I have my own financial troubles, and I have people who depend on me. So If I must make a choice as to who to give money to, it will not be the scam artist with the nice clothes and SUV, although i do have sympathy for that person.
even though i have already made a comment i have to add this you never know, a change of circumstances for you and bang your on the slippery slope of poverty and despair drugs or no drugs btw, a person addicted to drugs loses their personality to a druggie persona ever hear of the working poor? people who work low paying jobs and still can't afford to live i would really like to see you spend a week being homeless you might never use the word flawlwss again
In my original post I said anyone who gets my attention and asks, will get what they ask for. BINGO to you. The second post was clarifying something for another persons post.
I agree with Motherbone an' Deus Ex we have no right to judge another person. I mean there are plenty of people who look down on me cause I'm a dropout, jobless, young man. But really if they got to know me they'd really like me. Or so I think.
