how long does it take for a lip pierce to close? I have had it for 6 weeks and got problems at school. Does it close if i take it out for about 6 hours and then put it back?

it'll probably close within a day...

then i think you gotta kinda pierce it again with the jewellery to put it back..

Yeah, it'll close up a bit in that time, just because of the saliva in your mouth. I find it pretty easy to put the jewellery back in personally, but I've had mine for 2/3 years so the holes are pretty well established.
When I used to work I did have a habit of sticking some jewellery in when I had a break, just to keep the hole open, dunno if that'd help at school?

Yeah, it sounds like it wasn't fully healed. Oral piercings tend to heal fast and close fast. Thats a bummer, sorry.

As a good rule of thumb, I wait 6 weeks after I think a piercing is healed until I change mess with jewelry, but I understand your situation.

what about redoing the pierce? Does it have to be on another spot? I don't like it on the right or the middle. And if i do it on the same spot in like a year or two is it ok then?

You can probably redo it in the same spot after its healed. It really depends on how much scar tissue there is. Its something to ask your piercer because he can see it.

Something to think about is that each time you pierce it, you create more scar tissue. therefore, it will be more visible if/when you decide to take it out for good.

    Cheers
