The poor sod has a few problems these days. Ask them about John Peel, I guess the answer is likely to be the same?
Hah, I was just waiting for a "who's Andy Kershaw?" But well, he's been off Radio 1 for quite a few years now, it's not like Radio 3 is ever going be in the public eye. Radio 3 is the place where people with credibility go to die ... Radio 2 is where people who have lost their credibility or never had it in the first place go to die...
WEll Kids in the USA havent heard about WOLFMAN JACK either..... wtf....or PORK CHEDWICK... and thats my world too... pop music has ruined everthing.. Porky Chedwick has been recognized for "Porkstock," sorry if I was off your topic.....
Wolfman Jack is very much on topic, a big favourite of Peel's, and Kershaw's too I'm sure. Sorry I've never heard of Pork Chedwick The only bad thing about Andy Kershaw is his inexplicable liking for Bruce Springsteen
Andy Kershaw used to be a well-known figure around Crouch End where I grew up. He kept his Harley parked outside his house in Elder Avenue.
Good question. Maybe I'll put that in the exam. But then they'll just complain it wasn't on the syllabus.
I have heard of Andy Kershaw. He is the father of Nick Kershaw. Andy's Son grew up to be a musician. Largely popular throughout the early 80's. Nick pulled a string of hits from Human Racing, to Don't let the sun go down on me. Nick Kershaw appears on Now that's what I call Music: 2,3 and 4. All released in 1984. Also, he was dubbed as being the original Rick Ashley. Whether this is true or not, I can personally see a similarity with them. But one was better than the other.
I know who John Peel is. (mainly because of his recording sessions with Carcass, Napalm Death and Bolt Thrower) I have heard of Andy Kershaw but dont who he is.
