back in the day, the Symbol of the United States was being debated between the bald eagle and the wild turkey..

which would you prefer ? which would be more fitting, and why?

I think the turkey looks more like the reality of America.

The bald eagle is representative of the dream of freedom that they lead us to believe we have. Turkeys are just stupid. They didn't want to tell us we were stupid because then we'd think they were dicking us.

haha, true. but without the turkey, the united states would be different. turkeys were very important game birds in the US. they were also used alot in native american ceremonies and stuff..

one of the voting men said he wanted to vote for the turkey because the bald eagle cleptoparasitises other bird species (steals their food), so he felt they were immoral and underhanded. heh heh.

Why do both suggested symbols lack arms...? when americans beleive in the right to bare arms...

also, the turky wouldnt work because they dont fly right, and americans do fly, and drop nukes of poor asian countries.

The eagle has the freedom of choice to eat what it wants. It flies around all day taking in a view, enjoying the sun and the breeze.

Turkeys jump out of trees squeeling and get shot. yay for turkeys.

turkeys are loud, dumb, and they shit everywhere. bald eagles are going extinct, while America is a populated country. I would say the turkey fits us better.
