    What, where, and how?

I've seen the effect it can have on locks, makes them really smooth with no flyaways.

I'm not doing this for the vanity or the looks, but I'm also quite, quite aware of 'presentability' in my professional life.

I'm struggling with the decision if this is something that I'd want to do.

Who has used a felting needle? What kind of results did you get? Where did you get it, and how did you use it?

I use a rug making hook

It is like a hook with a little latch that closes the hook

You stick the hook through the dread, grab any stray hair, wrap it round the shaft of the hook and pull it back through the dread

    Repeat

Great for sorting out the ends so they don't look all straggly

i got mine at a sewing supply store. if they dont have them, they should be able to order them for you. i only use mine on other peoples hair or to attatch things to my hair, but they do work very well. theres a thread on here somewhere describing how to use it. try a search.

I had to find a specialty wool shop to get mine. Watch out, these things can be dangerous - in both an 'Hey, I'm bleeding!' and an 'Oops, there goes my dread' kind of way.

My fingers looked like a pin cushion after I'm done a session. Got mine from ebay $5 for 10 fine felting needles. I tried 3 different arts and crafts store where the part-time high school employees just kinda stared blankly when I asked for them.
