I don't get why I'm the only hippie where I live..I need people to relate to me and I can't find hardly any..I'm only 13(I'll be 14 in April but honestly age doesn't matter) so I can't just get up and leave..This is a small town and I hate it..Not because of the fact that its a small town but because of the way the people who live here act..or the majority of them..Going to the public school I go to brings me down and sucks the individuality right out of me..I just want to be myself but my surroundings make me someone else..I know who I am, and I'm not going to change..So why can't people just accept me the way I am..What do I need to do and what do I need to keep in mind?

lol, welcome to a large portion of your life where you face being yourself, or being the mindless drone that everyone wants you to be.

"I just want to be myself but my surroundings make me someone else"

You are REALLY! advanced for your age. I'm not going to bring in psychology terms, but I can explain it to you in english lol.

Theres three things affecting what you percieve as reality
    1.What you want
    2.Culture/enviroment
    3. What you think is right and wrong

The problem is, culture and your environment try to tell you what you want and what is right or wrong. Do not let them. Be and think for yourself. They are trying to tell you what reality is, but your reality is not their reality.

You will just have to tough it out for the next 4.5 years of your life. Once your done with high school you will have options. This will be the most important time in your life.
    You can either
    1. Go to college in the USA and face more of the same
    2. Go to college in a more liberal country (recommended)
    3. Turn to heavy drug use (not recommended)
    4. Become a tool of society (not recommended)

Choosing to go to college in the USA (like I did) was stupid, now I am going to be stuck here for a long time because I have just entered the debt cycle.

    Good luck

i would say your both really advanced for your age
    but
u were a lil limmited on your possibilities u listed... lifes not always that limmited...
theres no short list of 5 things to choose from

the thing is at your age times so compressed u feel like u need everything now and dont give it time to come to you

be patient ...your gonna get where your meant to go.. theres no rush
but its good to see so many young ppl who are just ...theres an awakening among the youth..& it seems to show up in bout 25% more now then it did few years back & in some quite young as u grow u become
who you are grows with your experiences throughout life
theres alot u can do in life even more u can experiencve
but theres more time then you know to do it in
till then do what i gotta do to get through

    Thanks.
As far as I know theres only a couple things you can do. It's almost impossible to maintain autonomy and still survive in today's culture. Inform me otherwise

Get a job out of high school, or go to college. What else can you do?
Yeah, you can choose what job to get, or where to go to college, but it's still inside the box of what you were programmed for.

I mean, I have often thought about going off and living on my own off the lay of the land, but that's pretty unrealistic considering the change of values and training that has occured.
