The main reason our enviroment is polluted is the manufacture of things we buy , its possible to live without buying plastic and in fact to live a life that would not destroy the planet .

Dont tell me that while pummeling your plastic keyboard and sending information through plastic components of your computer while resting in your chair with plastic components using a plastic hairbrush and taking photos on your plastic camera - make all them things out of wood and i will believe you

 

it would be possible to make a keyboard out of bakelite or wood you had typewriters before computers .

my computer wasnt made out of wood it was bought for me as a present when I was in a neck brace after being paralysed , I could stop using it but I use it to run a re-cycling business and its already been made , my intention is to move to a form of business where I dont use computers .

and cameras can be made without plastic as can chairs as can hairbrushes

Im doing nothing, because i couldnt give 2 shits about this fucking world. The environment is fucking fine. Global warming is real, but it's MUCH much less than the wankers who stand to make money make out. Im going to take MORE plastic bags from the supermarket because i can. I'm going to rev my diesel vans untill i see smoke, and im going to burn old tyres in my back garden. Infact, on sunday evenings im going to spray deoderant in the air. I'll flick my joint ends outta the window while i drive, and i'll live a happy life.

ever watch the beverly hills hillbillys thats a show about a american family that struck oil , and it was made because at the time the usa was the worlds biggest exporter of oil not the arabs ,american production peaked in the early 1970s and since then as just gone down ....well that was forecast in the 50s and the guy who forecast that said that the world would peak about now .

when it does things will change the world will get more local no cars or vans no globalisation

lip Ive been interested in resource depletion for nearly 40 years my father explained oil peak to me when I was 6 he was a engineer in the middle east


I know about hemp oil and every type of biofuel and they are not going to run our car culture or anything near it .

well if you had peak oil explained you will know that there has never been more oil in the world than at this time. The trouble is that while oil production has risen, population has outstripped it and so although there are oceans of oil being pumped out there are fewer gallons per person available so it merely feels like there is less oil to the economy.
The object would be to pump out more oil but this would harm the environment and mathematically it will be impossible to keep up with population increases there are two solutions available. The first and easiest is to decrease the population but the harder of the two is to find alternative fuels quickly enough

 

What you mean I guess is that there as never been more oil being pumped not that there’s never been more oil.
As there was more actual oil in say 1860s when the Americans started collecting it with ladles, you didn’t need to drill for oil at the start it just stayed in pools on the surface

and its not that the population is the main problem you come to a point in production which is the highest point of production and then the oil field goes into decline so every year you have less oil and it takes more energy to get .That seems to be happening globally at least with light oil maybe oil generally around now, a lot of people think world peak happened in 2005 some think its just about to happen between now and say 2012.

We will know for sure a few years after it happened, I remember talking to American oil people with my father who didn’t think America had peaked this was in the early seventies they were wrong but it takes a couple of years to be sure .

anyway I don’t think we are going to find alternatives that will scale up and that society will have to change, its too late for a transition we had a chance to do that maybe in the 1970s not a chance now .

Our governments and the big companies knew we would peak around now in the 1970s and they have done nothing in fact they have gone in the wrong direction so I don’t see any big transition.

see they had a president who told them sort of the truth that was jimmy carter and its not popular to tell people the truth you don’t get elected doing that , and politics is very short term so if the crash doesn’t happen in your four years who gives a fuck huh .

so what happened is Reagan won his election by saying its morning in America we have lots of oil total bullshit but most people are so dumb they dont understand their being lied to, actually bush was on saying all we need do is pump more American oil recently and all the time he’s buying estates in Paraguay so he wont be there when the collapse happens

lip when I was a kid america was the worlds big oil producer ,they used to export oil to the entire world and had done that since the 1860s.

I saw the fields being developed in saudi and kuwait, america peaked in the 1970s kuwaits peaked and its very likely that saudi has peaked too .

I remember the north sea fields being developed the north sea has peaked and by 2020 will be entirely gone .

Worldwide discovery of oil peaked in 1964 the year I was born since then every year we have discovered less and less oil , since 1981 we have used oil faster than it was discovered at present we use it four times faster than its discovered .
