Getting sensible about this topic, the one child policy has always run into difficulties, however it has been instrumental in bringing down China's birth rates. It doesn't seem to me that scrapping it would be a prudent course of action....

China made a mistake with the one child per family policy even though it may have been successful in reducing its population size. The affects of it have yet to hit China. India has thoughts of trying to implement such a policy, though I could never see such an oppressive measure succeeding there.
