I have spyware on my laptop when ever I open IE I'm redirected so www.puresafetyhere.com (I use firefox though) but the ads, and the windows pop-ups in my toolbar are driving me nuts. I installed the whole norton package onto here and ran scans and it dind't remove it. I tried a system restore and when my laptop restarted it said it can't do the system restore. So I went to this website (link) and tried manually removing it (deleting the registry values, .exes, and dll's). But when I searched for them it said they weren't found. So I don't know what to do anymore, someone help me stop the pop-ups before I drive over my laptop.

you can have all the anti spyware you want and your computer can still get killed. its happened to me. also never let any friends look at porn. those sites can do some serious damage. more than most people even realize. sorry to hear. =(
I would try to help but lose you at the second step. There are really nasty infections out there that are nearly impossible to remove. The removal task can be so delicate and even screw things up for good. You have three options: 1) Risk losing your data and time trying to fix it. 2) Format the hard drive and reload the Windows OS. 3) Forget about any and all spyware, malware, virus, infectious, etc problems forever and load Linux. Option 1 is no likely not going to happen, leaving you with only two options. Option 2 will work for a few months and you will have the mess all over again. I alright well I had already used spybot, and now the spyware is gone. I'm a firefox user and everytime I do a google search and click one of the search results I get redirected to some bs, like yahoo hotjobs, or car ads....?
