I only looked at this thread because it seemed totally stupid. So I ask you ,how many black friends to you have and how many white friends to you have? I have many friends but do not group them. Each man or woman is a individual. You should judge a man by his actions and not the color of his face. I love Bob, he was a great musician, but there are many great musicians. If you are inspired by a song,that is a great thing. So do not let it matter

 

Having been brought up in a "white" family and being of colour myself. I tend not to see people as colours, they're just people. I don't introduce people as my gay-black-english friend mike or whatever. It's pathetic.

Bob Marley considered himself an Ethiopian. As Rastafarians they say Haile Selassie was Jesus Christ come again (conquering lion of the tribe of Judah).
He was a black man who happened to have a white father.
He was not a white man who happened to have a black mother.
I think he identified with the fact that as a black man that meant he was the descendant of Africans who were brought to the new world as slaves. As Ethiopia was also the only non-colonised country in Africa, it was also a rallying point for Black people all over the world.


But, I digress...Bob Marley was a black man (not a zebra). He spread the message of Rasta and reggae to the 4 corners of this circular globe.
