Does holding in the smoke have any effect at all? I think it does, it's what I do when I only have a very small ammount of weed. Hold that shit in for 10-15 seconds per hit (or as long as you can every other hit), and I get pretty fuckin' baked. However, a friend of mine says that the BBC debunked the holding it in myth, claiming that it only takes a second or two for all the THC in the smoke to be absorbed in your lungs. Now, I would not be surprised if my apparent success with the hold-it-in method can be attributed to placebo effect. Thoughts?
I find that about 5-6 seconds gives me the maximum effect. anything longer and its just more crap getting stuck in your lungs. Also depriving your brain of oxygen and holding in hits that long could give you a head rush too making your high seem more intense.
I've heard the same thing - that holding it in more than a couple of seconds is unnecessary. I hold it, but only until I don't feel like holding it anymore. Skierdood is the poster of the beast.
6 seconds or whatever is fine, unless there's only a small amount of weed to burn, then you gotta ghost hit it.
it's false that THC is absorbed within the first two seconds. whether you have alot of weed or only a little, you should always take small hits and ghost them. that's how you get the most out of your weed and save money. all my friends wonder how i make my weed last so long. that's how.
It's not so much ghosting it, but inhaling air afterwards. More THC gets absorbed when there is a larger surface area. So taking a small hit and breathing in air to expand your lungs once your hit is complete will absorb more THC than someone who takes a medium hit and holds it in for a few seconds. I usually hold it in for 10-15 seconds, unless I'm trying to be sneaky, in which case I ghost my hits.
Hold between 5-15 seconds is my motto. Any more than that you're just tricking yourself into believing the head rush you have from holding your breath is getting you high.
I get high if I hold it in for one second or if I hold it in for 30 seconds. Whatever I feel like. If you're always smoking high-grade marijuana, then it doesn't really matter. At least, I don't notice a difference....
No, ghosting a hit is when you hold it in for so long that when you breathe out, no visible smoke comes out. I believe you're thinking of a french inhale.
I don't really hold my weed smoke in my lungs. I probably hold it about a half a second longer than I would tobacco smoke, but I breathe it out slower, mostly to prevent coughing. I like to smoke casually.
when you pull it into your mouth, breath in like you would on a cigar. Don't inhale, then you open your mouth (let the smoke drift out) and breath in your nose. That's how you french inhale. The ghost is when you breath out and no smoke is visible. The aveioli in your lungs took in all the the smoke. Everyone absorbs THC differently, there's no 1 answer.
ya know I've heard in 3 seconds 98-99% of the THC is absorbed. Maybe its 5, idk. either way, any longer than 10 seconds is just tarring up your lungs, so never do that unless you have to ghost hit to prevent the smell :/
