Upgrade bong or buy new acrylic??

Hey all, I'm new here. But anyways, I finally got some extra cash and was debating between buying an acrylic to go with my glass, or just upgrading my glass...my local headshop will convert my bong to GONG for pretty cheap (which I think I'm gonna do), but I was wondering if there was anything else I could possibly do to make it that much better?

 

I dunno what bong to gong means, but buying a bong with an ice restrictor was the best thing i have done. If your bong isn't equipped with one i suggest you make that happen.

 

bong to gong? i would say upgrade to a better glass bong, no use in downgrading to acrylic.

 

haha sorry guys, by GONG I meant glass on glass so I can stop using these stupid fragile slides that always break...theyll take out the female part and replace it with a female with a permanent downtube and a glass on glass slide.

as for the ice restrictor, it doesn't have one, but as you can see, the tube narrows, so I can just put a few ice cubes in and can smoke a few bowls before the ice melts far enough that it falls all the way into the bowl. I wish there was something I could stick halfway into the tube so that ice would catch on it, but I haven't seen anything like that...ideas are welcome

see if they can make ice notches in you pipe, since you getting the work done, maybe the can stretch it and make it longer, not sure what kind of shop your dealing with. but glass on glass is great, a nice small holed defusor with a active carbon filter matched with a nice pre cooler.. hits dont come better than that

NEVER take it to the shop again.

doesnt matter if its cool or not, you need to do the upgrading to the bong BEFORE you use it...in other words just get a good bong to begin with, one you can live with.

any shop that claims to be willing to deal with used glass should be avoided like the plague. headshops usually bend over backwards to make their products seem legal. if they are working with used pipes, they aren't following normal procedure and shouldnt be trusted, as far as i'm concerned

 

??? I'm confused about your post. I bought it brand new from a headshop near me...I've had/used it for a few months, but 5 slides later, I want an alternative, but I really don't want to pay 80-100$ for a nicer glass on glass bong, especially because I like the one I have.

If it's used, there's some resin in it, so it's illegal (depending on where you're located). Since head shops are already in a legal grey area, they generally don't want to deal with any illegal items.

you should get a molino mad scientist bong. my friend just ordered one. it comes with a percolator and a diffuser and is glass on glass. its also only about 80 bucks.
