So is the only risk of taking expired pills or cough syurps is that it just might now be as strong, right? I found some expired tussinex and i just want to make sure i wont make myself sick if i take some. it's about 2 years old..im not sure if it'll even be worth it.
yea man you should be fine, like i said in another thread, i found percodan from 1988 with the bottle cap off, and some type of fuzz/mold was growing on one of them, and i still got fucked up when i ate them.
same hear Guitar I use to eat scripts of painkillers 4 or 5 years old sometimes and they were just fine.
I think it will be okay. It's only two years. I had some Vicodin Tussin syrup (same thing?) awhile back that was a couple years old. I also had some oxycodone and hydrocodone pills, both about 3 years old when I was taking them. They were fine, I didn't get sick, and I still got high. I wouldn't take anything with mold growing on it though. I read an article that stated pills have a shelf life of about 5 - 10 years (don't quote me on these numbers), but the FDA won't let them sell them for that long. Also I think they print that on the bottle to keep people from taking them recreationally, especially if they have leftover pills that were prescribed to them for something (as it was in my case ).
expired meds will typicaly cause the principle effect to be weakened, and the unwanted side affects to be increased massively...it can be very dangerouse in fact...ive done it by accident, and spent 2 weeks without any sleep, halucinating, both audio and visual, ..was really messed up..and that was off meds that u shouldnt be able to get yhigh off of (actualy i wouldnt call it a high but an extreme annoyance) read the side effects, and expect them to be extremely pronounced if the meds are too old....and can be possibly deadly throw em out
Considering that this is the opiate forum and the OP is talking about liquid hydrocodone, I am going to assume we are talking about opiates in general and not other med's as the title may seem to imply. As for pills, the chemicals are very potent and the molecules are extremely stable, especially the synthetic opiates, this is not like LSD lol. They could theoretically last hundreds of years if stored properly. If stored like just sitting in a cabinet, I wouldnt trust anything over 5 years but that's just because I would not want to risk it. The amount of time it takes for those pills to turn over and toxic Im not sure anyone quite knows, but in many experiences, people have been fine taking pills anywhere from 5-10 years. But if you care about your health and arent into risking your life for potential highs, I would just avoid all old medication. Namaste
well i personally dont see it being dangerous as in the UK the NHS gives out of date medicines to poorer countries. saying that the NHS probably just feeds them back to us! lol
