Where Hippie girls raped during the upprisings in the 70s?

I wonder where you people thought that the 60's and hippies were all about peace, love and understanding?

Those words are cliche, they are hyped by the media, and those who wanted to profit from it.

The reality is that the 60's was a violent era, marked by change and turmoil.
The "peace" hippies were only a part of the scene. There were many strands in the social fabric of that time.

Me and my friends prefer peace, but if we saw someone being raped, doesn't matter if it was a cop, we would have beat the hell out of that motherfucker.

I like peace, but there is a time and place for everything.

Well, you see he got so pissed off because I dropped the girl off that he grabbed the steering wheel and yanked us over a guard rail down a cliff. Fortunately for me I didn't break anything and just suffered some bruses and such. We were then picked up by some people who stopped along the highway and they flagged an ambulance over.

As far as taking the girl home we were in the middle of nowhere in Nevada. Had I of tried that she probably would have gone over the edge too.

I was issued a ticket for driving 50 in a zero mph zone because the cop said he couldn't prove I was drunk but he was sure I was.

I did the best I could at the time. Sorry if I disappointed you.

 

I'm not dissapointed, I have been raped three times myself and it's a sore subject.. so many say and do nothing, just turn their heads, if the men of the world would black ball these men, and say it's not cool instead of turning their head, the perp may not be so ready to inflict their rage on us.

You did what you could.. I was not aware of the circumstance.

This is one reason, I never liked cops, military people, in fact, anybody in a goddamn uniform, authority figure types.

Why? Because only a thin line separates the cop from the criminal.

 

There were so many things the pigs did to us, people just don't realize that it wasa WAR on Hippies and we were treated as animals. When I reported being raped, the pigs told me if I didn't like it to go home.. home?, I lived there, it was my home. A few yrs later when I was being battered by my dv husband ,I call the cops and they told me I could be arrested and my kids taken away from me for being in a abusive relationship.. go figure, I was calling them so I could leave.

The only difference now days is they have cameras watching, so it's harder for them to get away with it.

 

Stev90 and Shameless Heifer, I agree with you both. That's why I do NOT trust pigs. Even when they come into my work I try to steer clear of them nowadays... you can never trust them, and I'm beginning to think more and more that I'm being watched.

 

Look at it this way, what can you expect from people with barely a high-school education, when given a gun and the authority and money, not to be tempted to abuse that kind of power. Power corrupts. It's the same with cops.


All the more, cops are prone to corruption because they mostly interface with the scum of society. Plus, if they are not capable of handling the stress and pressures that go with the job, many of them become rogue, corrupt cops.

Most of the smart people of society don't join the police nor the military. The intelligent ones join business, or the professions.

Oftentimes, those with weak character join the police and the military because they need a crutch to turn to or in many cases, used that BADGE, to abuse their authority and thus commit rape and other crimes.

Only a thin line separates the cop from the criminal.
