Hi all, I'm brand new to these forums and usually lurk on forums a while before posting, but thought I'd go ahead and throw up an introduction, since what I've already read has been extremely helpful. I'm really interested in San Pedro cactus, especially as it seems relatively easy to obtain and prepare. Any general, essential recommendations anyone would make before embarking on this quest? I've already found some extensive info on here, but reading it all at once can be overwhelming. Incidentally (and somewhat unrelated) I currently reside on the Navajo nation. Some co-workers have extended several serious invitations to peyote ceremonies, but this is something I don't want to go into without SOME prior knowledge, as I want to treat it very seriously and with the utmost respect if I choose to join. In any case, thanks in advance.
In reconsidering that, I decided to be more specific. In my research it seems like there are a WIDE variety of ways to prepare San Pedro, many of which are very similar but with subtle differences. I'm looking for something that is relatively minimalistic (since this is my first time I don't want to get into some over-elaborate preparation method and screw it up) but also something that will still make for an effective trip. Suggestions?
Well, in what form are you getting your cacti? Because that greatly influences which preparation method you should choose. If you're looking for simplistic, I'd recommend powdering it (if it's dry skin), placing it in a bowl of lemon juice so that the juice completely covers your cacti. Then, let it sit a day in the fridge. Eventually, the powder will liquefy and becomes readily drinkable (assuming you can deal with the taste). You should then take small shots of the liquid until it is all gone. I like this one because you really don't do much hands on prepping, and it doesn't leave you with a lot of stuff to drink. And giving advice about psychedelics is too difficult. I'll just say that mescaline is nothing to be overly nervous about. It can be very intense yet bad trips almost never occur.
I'm not sure if you still can find it or not, but a year or so ago you could buy San Pedro Incense, which was pre-dried ground up cactus. You just mixed it with water and lemon juice to make it less bitter. It was nasty cactus sludge, but it was easy. I probably have done it about 15 times, and will definitely do it again if I find more
