I have a few perc 5/325's, I took 3, was feeling great for about 3 hours, than WHAM, nausea for about 6...is that the oxycodone or the acetaminophine (sp?). I've taken more tylenol than that before without a problem. Is there a cure/different way of taking them to avoid the nausea? Thanks...
dramamine(sp?) helps with nausea. I don't really get sick but some of my friends who do say it is a great help.
It's the oxycodone of course, all opiates have the potential to cause nausea. You can try laying on your back when it starts to hurt, drink milk to coat your stomach, or become and addict and enjoy the nausea until it goes away lol
Thanks, I only do 'em when they fall into my lap, so addiction isn't an option. I have Meclizine, which is for vertigo and sea sickness (supposedly better than dramamine) so I guess I'll try that. It's strange though, because I can take a ton of Vicodin and not get any nausea, I wonder why that is?
Vicodin is hydrocodone, whereas Percocet is oxycodone. You must tolerate the hydrocodone better. The fact is, different opiates have different effects on every person. Also, meclizine is a stronger anti-emetic (anti-nausea) medication, so I would definitely reccomend it over dramamine. Also, you should be aware that the more your body is exposed to something, the better you tolerate it (except in certain cases, such as allergic reactions, which can be instant, or can develop over time as your body is exposed to a substance). That means a few more times taking a few percocet and you should be fine, unless you really do have a poor reaction to it. (Oxycodone is one of the best tolerated synthetic opiates, so I would say your nausea will most likely get better) As for me, taking oxycodone caused me to become nauseous the first 2-3 times I took it, but after that, the nausea went away completely. -V
